I'm curious. How many of you local board members had to brave the snow and go to work or school today?

I work from home so my commute is pretty easy. On the other hand, no snow day for me.

I can work from home, so that's my plan for today. Working from the VPN sucks though. It slows everything down considerably.
 
well down in my neck of the woods we actually got snow... my kid got yesterday and today off so far. but I was/am working still.
 
My wife kicked me out of the house with her car
 
Going in to work. Its not bad to drive in folks. Stop being wusses. This isnt ice, its snow.

Not talking about working from home. But i am honestly against working from home. Its ridiculously stupid because nothing gets done.
 
I'm currently waiting for the bus to work. Going to be late most definitely but i'll be one of the few to show up.

Tax accounting.

You "can" get stuff done, but most people that work from home get nothing done.

And if you wanna move up in your organization, working from home aint the way to do it.

KPTV showed a brand new BMW suv that flipped on its roof. Doesn't matter if you can drive in the snow if the person behind you can't.

Actually the position that I'm hoping to move up to is a full-time work from home position, so I'm getting a chance to prove that I can get stuff done from home.

Good for you. Hope you get it. That makes sense for you then.

But in most organizations, what i said absolutely rings true.
 
I could work from home if the company I work for would let me, but I have to agree that I am not sure how much I could actually get done with the wife there, and my youngest kid or both if its not summer as well. I fell like I would need a dedicated office space that I could lock myself in and play loud music or have head phones on at all times haha

The career that I'm angling for involves a lot of fieldwork and outreach, so it's essential to show that you can be productive on your own away from the office. I understand though how that would be unique compared to most jobs.

I'm my own boss, so I don't have that worry. Well, me and about 50 clients who expect me to get their stuff done. Fortunately, I can multi-task, baby.
