This won't end well for someone.

I was told no one from the athletic department - no coaches or current AD staff - were consulted in the hiring of Patterson.

Mack Brown learned of Patterson's hire on Twitter, I'm told.

There was no internal email that went out to the department Tuesday announcing Patterson's hire. Everyone in the Texas athletic department had the hire confirmed when UT president Bill Powers' office posted the news online.

Why?

Because no one in the current athletic department was involved in the process of hiring Patterson or clued in as the story was breaking.

Many have asked what Patterson's hire will mean for Mack Brown. I've been told, let the season play out.

He is gonna clean house and that's good for the fans of Texas. I think he actually will have success as the AD of the best football program in America.

Patterson, and the state of Texas, deserve each other.

So, you've already determined he will move on to Alabama after he cleans house at Texas?

Alabama is great but if everyone is being honest Texas has the best facilities and best recruiting field along with a rich as hell booster club.

Oregon has better facilities than Texas, and Oregon only needs one REALLY rich booster.

But, it's hard to argue with Alabama's success. If you look at recent results on the field, no one comes close to Alabama as "the best football program in America".

What makes you think that? His time making righting the Blazers ship, or his time making Arizona State a sports powerhouse...
