OT: The John Wall vs. Derrick Rose Debate

Rose is stronger and more explosive.

Wall is faster with the ball, and probably has a more well-rounded game.

Both are great playmakers (Rose is severely underrated in this regard due to the Bulls' style of play this year).

it's tough, so i wanna see your thoughts. Wall is being crowned as the next "Derrick Rose" by one half, and the other half is claiming he'll be much, much better.

Normally I usually go with the guy that is further along in development, but I don't really like Rose's style of play. So I'd take Wall.

Anyway, how do you know that Rose is stronger?

It's pretty obvious Rose is stronger. Wall gets bounced at every ounce of contact, whereas Rose has a stronger core (as seen by his contact-absorbing layups). Plus he's got thicker legs, so that should be a giveaway.

I like Rose in terms of his scoring, but Wall's got that clutch instinct to just destroy a team. They're probably even in passing, while Wall can get that steal any second. He can really disrupt a team with his length.

From what I can tell, Wall has better court vision and passing skills. Plus, he has one of the sickes bball mixes on Youtube.

I think both are great athletes and guards. But I'd take Paul or D. Williams facilitating my offense any day of the week. Both are under control and understand the team game better than Wall and Rose.

How is Wall bigger? He was measured at the team USA tryouts at around 6 1.75. That's roughly the same as Rose. And as a lifelong Bulls/Wildcats fan, I would know more than those pundits about these guys. Remember, they're also the ones who said Telfair was the next great PG. I love both these guys and you don't need some "expert" to tell you who's more athletic. Simple observation will show a few things:

He's definitely more explosive and gets off the ground quicker (going back again to the thicker legs statement). Wall has a better pace to his game, he's better at reading the D, and he's a little faster with the ball. As a kentucky/chicago fan, I can tell you those things near to fact.

And yeah, all high school mixtapes are ridiculous, that's why their in the NBA.

Maybe. I wouldn't be surprised if Tyreke Evans ended up in jail at some point. If he doesn't, he probably will have a great career.

Yup. Then again Rose is listed as 6'3' in the NBA. At most, without shoes Wall could be .5 inches taller.

I dont know. I strongly believe --with bias-- that both will become top 2-3 PGs in the next 3 years.

Meanwhile, I dont think Tyreke has a higher ceiling. Still gonna be great though. Unless he runs someone over.
