OT: TRUEHOOP HoopIdea: The 4 Pointer

That's because you don't know what each referee is supposed to be looking at. That play is and always will be the Trail official's call (furthest away from the basket). He has enough to look at. It will NEVER be the Lead's call (official under the basket). He/she better not EVER even see the rim. Too busy looking at bodies. Again, policing that would be HELL.

So the ref can look at a player to tell he's behind the 3pt line when he shoots but not when he throws an alley oop?

It would take 2 referees to call that (that will simply never happen) since Lillard is coming from the Center Official's primary area of responsibility.

lol. We pretty much wrote the same thing, you just used trail and lead, where I just said gobble de goop.

The ref is supposed to "stay with the shooter" (the reason why Harden's flop against Wesley was called a foul). Meaning watch him jump and watch him land. Then determine if the 3 is good. It's just too much stuff.

Referee School 101:

This is each referee's area of responsibility. These change depending on which side the L(ead) is on. The Lead takes the Yellow area.

Now do you understand why Dick Bavetta FUCKED UP here? After Harden shoots the 1st shot, Dick is supposed to get his
LAZY, OLD ASS ACROSS THE KEY. He's calling out of his area! The area where Blake/Harden are is the C's responsibility!
He even "position adjusts" (because he knows Dick's lazy ass isn't in position) and passes on calling anything.
Dick (one of the most arrogant officials in history) breaks the rule that HE would set if he were your crew chief "DON'T CALL IN MY AREA".

Hahahaha that's the worst flop I've ever seen I think. Classic.

I like the idea of 4 point line but only because it gives lillard an advantage over the rest of the NBA . I'm fine with taking it away if we lose him.

Lmfao I have to +1 you for that shit. I know its not worth anything but its the thought that counts.

We are derailing the shit out of this thread but this was one of my favorite flops

Steve Javie... he kicked the shit outta that call... sigh... He has a complete open look too. It's right in his FUCKING lap. I don't see how he gets fooled by that obvious flop... We've all booed at him haven't we? He's been booed at multiple games that I've been to.

I would also make the second pass count as an assist if it's in continuation.

I would also take away fan voting for the All Star Game and instead I would do fan voting for the All Star festivities such as the 3pt shootout, Slam dunk contest, Skills challenge. For the game of horse I would have 4 players, Two different games. One game with guards and small forwards and the other with power forwards and centers. All the festivities with fan voting. If the players don't like it tough shit they earn millions.

I'm on board with this although I'd also make a tipped ball or altered shot a stat like a rebound. I'd also make the intentional foul like a clear path foul. Instant two pts and the ball.

That makes late game comebacks pretty much impossible. Then again, as I think about it, they're already pretty much impossible do why extend a game to boredom just to confirm the result?

That would be horrible and would give no advantage to the defense for fouling to stop the clock at the end of ball games. Also, there is no intentional foul in the NBA.

Did you really just say there's no intentional foul in the NBA? That's why Shaq shot 50 freethrows in the last 4 minutes of a playoff game. To me, it has not made the game better. Watching bad freethrow shooters decide games is a cowardly play to me. If you can't defend, they beat you...I've always felt that way about the intentional foul.

But fouling players who don't have the ball is already a two-shot-and-the-ball foul in the last 2 minutes of the game. So really, your rule already exists.

Also, quit coddling bad free throw shooters. If they want to be in the game in crunch time, they should work on their skills like it was their job!

Thank you for handling my lightweight. ;)

The penalty for an Intentional Foul (say A1 is on a fast break and B1 shoves him in the back without making a play on the ball) in HS and NCAA levels is 2 shots plus the ball. Again that "type" of foul (Intentional Foul) does not exist in the NBA. Now there is a such thing as an intentional foul it is simply not called that. It is called a common foul and possession is not awarded along with the 2 free throws.

I agree not to coddle bad ft shooters. I haven't shot a basket in 6months and I bet I could take Trob in a best of 10 right now.

You know if they make a 4pt line they will most likely have to widen the court.

Another thing they could do is make the hoop 12 feet and 20 inches in diameter rather than 10 feet and 18 inches in diameter.
