IMO, more of a statement on what the Blazers put the Grizzlies through last night.

Utah matches up well w/ them, this is the third time they've destroyed Memphis this year.

And Memphis was the team running out of gas, unlike the game last night.

or maybe Zach doesn't have a burning desire to crush the Jazz. :dunno:

A rare occurence also happened today, Mr. Andrei Kirilenko showed up to play 12pts/6reb/4ast/3blk/4stl which was almost another 5x5 for him.

Weird game. No DWill either. Back to backs are tough, especially that one! They got to that hotel about 3 AM.

I think it's more of a statement of how little talent Portland has available to them right now.

no williams and they still beat the grizz by double figures? wow we really suck bad then.

Nah. Memphis had won 7/8 going into last night with a +9 point differential in those games. Their only loss was a 5 point loss at Dallas. They won in Phoenix by 25. They are a talented (but inconsistent) offensive team playing with a lot of confidence when they came to Portland. I'm not surprised they got whacked last night - they are not a deep team (they played four guys 40+ minutes against us the night before) and they were on a back-to-back coming off a hard fought win. And they were on the last game of a 4 game roadie, and young teams often lose focus on that last game - as we've done several times in recent years.

You're right. Mills, Pendergraph, Cunningham, Howard and Randolph playing 95 minutes will win us a lot of games.

Thus far, Memphis laying down the beat-down, tonight.
