OT: Wolves Ready To Examine Kevin Love Trades For First Time

I bet they're bashing the shit out of him right now.

They should blow that team up and start over. Get a lotto pick from the Lakers, trade Rubio, and start over.

Agreed. We should take Bricky off their hands to be Dame's backup. Send them MyLe.

Wolves fans seem pretty delusional. They are acting like is is the end of the world, not even realizing that this is the best thing that could happen to them. Pek can get the boards that Klove hoarded.

Maybe it's because it pisses me off that love gets the nod over la which is not deserved. But I honestly think that love will be an average player if playing on a good team.

As the Minnesota Timberwolves consider the future of All-Star forward Kevin Love, Sam Mitchell has emerged as a serious candidate for the franchise's head coaching job, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

I can't believe they're not jumping onto George Karl. That's an automatic playoff berth. Many coaches don't want to coach way out in the sticks in Minnesota, but he coached in Milwaukee.

What a wasted talent, and available for any mediocre team desperate to make the playoffs. They're sacrificing Love so they can hire the great Sam Mitchell? What??!!

I would LOVE to get Gorgui Dieng. If he went to the Lakers for a lottery pick, I would totally kick in some filler to get back Dieng. He is exactly the kind of defensive center we need on the bench.

I also think it's a good thing for them, they weren't getting anywhere with him for years - time for a change.

I really really really really hope the Lakers trade their lottery pick for him. That would just be so awesome. Not only would they lose out on a really nice young asset, but they would be trading for a guy that can't lead a team to a championship and will be eating up cap space for the next five or six years. Fucking brilliant.

I'm still predicting that Love and Westbrook will be Lakers within two or three years. That will be so much fun to see. Tons of bickering, ball hogging, and stat whoring.

...and winning.

Houston now mentioned as going aggressively after Love. I have no idea who they think they can trade for him, though.

Really? You think so? Why do you think Love/Westbrook would be such a good combination?

Because it's the Lakers with two All-NBA players. Maybe 3 depending on how long Bryant plays. The NBA won't let that team lose more than 30 games, and Westbrook is really freaking good, even though he's a bit selfish at times.

Kobe and Westbrook would get into a fistfight. It would be awesome.

Houston will aggressively go for love, lebron, and melo. Because the rockets are the most entitled franchise in the NBA.

I want Love to go to Phoenix because I like the Charles Barkley comparison. It would bring up some very interesting conversations.

I'd like to see Love go to the Lakers for their draft pick. Hey we know they'll be able to get a top free agent when they have cap room, but the way they'll become an elite team is also having young studs on cheap rookie contracts. They definitely have a chance of getting one with a top 6 pick this year. If they trade away that pick even with a star or two they won't be able to assemble a legit contender.

It's being reported on ESPN radio Love has made it clear he will not re-sign and go FA. He did tell them if traded 2 teams high on his list are Golden State and da Bulls.

The Warriors with Love are very intriguing. I wonder what kind of package Golden State could put together. Probably something similar to what they supposedly offered for LA.

Thompson/Lee for Love.

Chicago with him is a very impressive team. Love/Noah frontcourt, with Butler on the wing, and ROse being asked to do a lot less? Definitely battling with Miami an Indiana in the east for top spot.

Payback?

I think it's a perfect time to spam their board with Buck Angel pictures.

I don't know about pay back. Just go post a "Hello from the Blazer fan base. How are you guys holding up?" They'll melt down on their own for you.

Reggie Miller said on the DP Show that a David Lee and Harrison Barnes for Kevin Love has potential to happen.

That's a laughably bad trade. Reggie has no idea what he's talking about. GS has no shot at him if they aren't adding Thompson in the deal. Barnes' value took a major hit with his mediocre past season.

I have a feeling the Celtics are in the best position t make something happen.

If David Lee is being thrown around as a legitimate option, we should dangle Batum and like a Trob to them, then try to sign Deng.

We can't trade Batum to the TWolves since we matched their contract to him. It's a CBA restriction. Part of the reason Neil was happy to let Indy actually sign Hibbert directly instead of matching our offer. We can trade for Hibbert.

If a team matches an offer sheet and retains its free agent, then for one year they cannot trade him without his consent, and during that year cannot trade him at all to the team that signed him to the offer sheet. They also can't trade the player in a sign-and-trade transaction (see question number 90). A restricted free agent's resulting contract (whether with the new team or the contract is matched by the player's prior team) cannot be amended in any manner for one year.

Only for one year.
