OT: Worse Head Coach, Kidd or Zeke?!

...seriously, will Kidd finish with a worse overall coaching record than Zeke?! :dunno:
 
Regardless of record, I think Zeke was a better coach than Kidd.

Was the eastern conference competition this bad then? Did Zeke have as much (presumed) talent to work with? (I ask because I really don't know.)

Kidd was a dominant ball player, but I don't think anyone ever accused him of having a dominant mind.
 
Jerry West was a good coach. He quit only because he gets too stressed.
 
I think Kidd would be a great coach for the Lakers.
 
Adding to the effects of Kidd's coaching deficiencies, is the fact that his once-were-stars vets are in fact his peers. It's the difference between being a parent and being a friend. You can't tell your friends what to do. Plus, they never take you seriously anyway.
 
Kidd stepping right into that role made no sense. Makes no sense.

I don't know diddly about playing or coaching in the NBA, but I have to believe that the guys holding clipboards for years and years before getting a head coaching gig were actually learning something, rather than just wasting time and collecting a paycheck.

I thought Zeke did pretty well in Indy?

Kidd is a joke. It's obvious that he only got the job because he's friends with the stars on the team.
 
...on the other hand, I would love to see Gary Payton take a crack at the head coaching vacancy at Oregon State! Oh wait, Robinson is STILL the coach? :sigh:

I regularly played in some pretty high end runs around the Bay Area for the last couple decades. Though it's all 2nd hand, I've heard soooo many different players relay Jason to being about as sharp as a bowling ball that I came to believe where there is smoke there is fire. I can recall a few glaring public examples of him being dangerous and idiotic. With this as my perspective, I was very surprised that the Nets hired him last summer. But they'd recently had him on the team before... they knew the guy and what they were getting into, right? His hiring seemed to prove that what I'd heard was wrong.

And then a week later he got a DUI

It just didn't make sense to me at all. You're building a team that must win now, like..... NOW. Why would you hire a guy who has never coached ever?

If you're wanting to give a guy a shot while you're tanking, that makes sense. It was like handing the reigns over to Canales when we were tanking. That made sense to me. Hiring Kidd makes no sense.

Keep in mind Zeke had a winning season or two. A better question would be Kidd Or Magic?
 
Both have cheated, on the court and in their personal lives.

Neither is worthy of the honor of coaching.
 
Who is a worse, Billy King as a GM or Kidd as a coach?

Think I have to go with Thorn; he has been GM of the year for the Blazers, Hawks and Celtics. As bad as Kidd is he can only at the most give out 4 wins to another NBA team.
 
It's as if, when Elgin left, the "Atrocious GM Poltergeist" took a flight to Billy King's house. With a detour to Kahn's for a vacation, like Brad Pitt visiting NYC as "Death" in Meet Joe Black
