DPOTY Tyson Chandler not on first team all defense?

Someone will have to explain this to me

NEW YORK -- NBA Most Valuable Player LeBron James is the leading vote-getter for the league's all-defensive team.
Thunder forward Serge Ibaka, Clippers guard Chris Paul, Grizzlies guard Tony Allen and Magic center Dwight Howard join the Heat star on the first team announced Wednesday.
Ibaka and Allen earned first-team honors for the first time.
James totaled 53 points, including 24 first-team votes. He averaged 1.9 steals and 7.9 rebounds as Miami ranked fourth in the league in opponent scoring.
The NBA's 30 head coaches vote on the all-defensive team by position. They're not allowed to pick their own players.

I think writers vote for those awards, DPOTY, and coaches only vote defensive team stuff. Coaches mail it in usually, and throw out stupid votes for guys(Outlaw got an all defense vote a few years back for us, I remember). Kobe on 2nd team over Iguodola is pretty poor as well.

I do think Chandler is a better defender than Howard... but not by much.

a healthy howard is imo is better. the way he changes the way teams have to play when he is on the court is testimant to that.

Chris Paul first team all defense? I've sure never seen him as a lock down defender.

Carlos Boozer got a vote.

Not sure about this season, but doesn't he finish at the near top in steal EVERY season?

cp3 led the league this season in steals with 2.53 ... he's led the league four out of the last five years and has only been under 2/gm once in his career and that year he was at 1.8.

Shit....... no need to be a lock down defender if you take the fucking ball away from 'em before they are even in a position to score.

Yeah, but if he doesn't steal the ball the path to the basket is there.

I am not going to get into it about whether or not CP3 is one of the best defenders in the league or not. No different then arguing if he's black or not!
