Luxury tax be damned. Spotrac revealed to me this morning that we signed Hood with his non-bird exception for 120% of his previous deal, and Hezonja/Tolliver were singed with the minimums, meaning our MLE is still available.

You gotta think we're gonna get someone else. I've been saying I want a PG, but Faried is really intriguing as another rolling big threat. I think rebounding is probably the biggest weakness on our current roster. Justin Holiday is a guard who has some history with us as well-- i believe he was on our training camp roster early in Dame's career.

With as thin as they are up front and at PG, you would think another move is coming.

Wait hang on, spotrac is different from other reports. Does anyone know for sure what Hood was signed with and if we still have our MLE?

I am quite certain that Spotrac is incorrect. The non-bird was not large enough to sign Hood to the contract amount listed. They listed the amount Woj reported, but there is no possible way for the team to have signed him to that value. The only thing that actually makes sense based on CBA rules is him having been re-signed via the tax-MLE

This is what Quick was saying. There have been two press conferences with Olshey this weekend. How has no one confirmed this? You'd think it would be a big deal.

A direct, poignant question from the Portland media? :rotfl:
This is bugging me. As @PtldPlatypus notes, 2yrs/16 for Hood is not really possible. I had mistakenly taken his caphold (6.5 mil) to calculate his 120% increase via non-bird exception.

Ah shit. Guess this thread is moot. We only have minimums left

Our last roster spot should go to the immortal Half Man Half Amazing. Lets get Vince Carter. Ant Simons can backup the PG spot.
