Our drunk GM just traded Walcott for a 7th round pick to Tampa

I dont think Walcott was anything close to untouchable (despite his O hes still sub 170 last I saw), but we just spent a 5th on him last draft, then traded him for a 7th not even a year later. Good one Glen.

Just saw this on 'Bleacher Report'. Holy shit.
Some sort of justification for the MSL trade .......
GS gets back a 7th round pick( which was a 5th) that went
to TB in the MSL-Cally trade. Total bullshit.
.......and giving up on Daniel Walcott.

Wonder if The Genius is going after any more picks?

I havent looked into this, but he was due to be signed this year no? Maybe they figure with Graves and Skjei also due to count toward the 50 contracts next year they had to dump 1. That's my guess.

I agree Prod...only logical thing. Sure there is more than meets the eye here.

wait..there could be more than meets the eye...no fucking way....

Everyone sucks...trade the whole team...:).

Walcott was a good prospect. Trading him for a 7th was moronic. Maybe it had to do something with the St. Louis deal. Either way, it was freakin stupid unless our Euro scouts pull a gem in the 7th round. Sather better get his head out of his ass and start building for the future again. A core of this team will be 27-28 when Lundqvist is 37. He needs to have a team in place then that is young and skilled.

Better yet its time for father to give way to groton full-time already. Glen, its time

Glen Sather may be contemplating to leave his
post as Ranger GM. Hmmmmmmmm. NY Post Hmmmmmm.

Lindberg, Skjei, Buchnevich and maybe Graves are the only prospects in the system worth a dang, but they all should be solid pieces for the future. Nieves and Fogarty haven't shown all that much but still have some time. Halverson and/ or Shesterykin could be Lundqvists replacement down the line.

Sather in the post is considering stepping down. That is good. He has started to take up the insane thinking of Chuck lately where he gives away everything for moves to try and win now. Stupid would be kind when describing that.

OR the insane thinking of you dump...you know the guy who wanted Nash more than anyone on this board...DUMP, the guy who LOVED the Yandle deal...DUMP, and the guy who was perfectly fine with the MSL deal...DUMP.

Now that same guy...DUMP...knocks anyone who says they liked those deals and thinks Sather is crazy for giving up picks in the mid to late 20's.

You tell me who is the insane one here....DUMP...you tell me.

Again...why we love our dumpy...:).

HF boards are too funny. The Rangers haters talk about how the Rangers farm sucks and the prospects are overrated. Now they make it seem like Duclair is a franchise prospect and the Rangers got ripped off. That board sucks on an incredible level.

I said I don't mind giving up a high pick for a difference maker. Yandle can be that. Let's face it. Boyle has sucked on the PP. He's too old and has lost it. Yandle can improve the PP. His passing skills also factor in to setting off the transition game with Kreider, Haglein, Nash and some of the other speed guys. I can live with this. Followed Duclair for over 2 years. Provided they still have their two seconds. They can take another high skill offensive player in the draft and hope it works out.

Love the moron anti Rangers fans stating we will be screwed in a few years on HF.

Miller 21
Kreider 23
Hayes 22
Hagelin 26
Stepan 24
Brassard 27
Zucc 27
Fast 23
Nash 30
McDonagh 25
Staal 28
Yandle 28
Klein 30
Girardi 30

I don't see it. I figure, develop Buch, Tambellini, Skjei, Graves and Walcott, team can still be young in a few years. They have 2 good, young goalies in the system. I think they have gone as far as they can go now giving up picks. It can't happen again after this. They need to keep their first rounders going forward.

As a big believer in Duclair, the one knock on his offense is he leaves the zone early to generate a lot of his chances. That does not work in the NHL. He has 50-60 point skill. No doubt. The fact they included him in this deal tells me three things.

1. They think Buchnevich is better.
2. They think Hayes is going to be a legit, 50 point guy.
3. They think their offense is set for 4-5 years where they don't need his finishing skills.

I would suspect other than a right handed defenseman, the Rangers are going to draft lots of offensive forwards with speed and finishing skills with their picks this year.

Well, guess they figure with St. Louis the draft picks will be a lot lower. Let's face it. They can always trade a player down the line to get picks. It's not hard to do. Buffalo has traded a lot of guys who IMO weren't all that good and got 1st and 2nd round picks. Cally got what he deserved with his stupid greed.

Bottom line was I was against giving Callahan that contract from day one. I'm glad they didn't give it to him. Miller is ready to stick on this team. Lindberg is ready to make the team. So is McIlrath with limited minutes IMO. Duclair is one the fast track. Skjei should be a pro in 3 years. Fast has a real chance of making the team. The roster has a lot of young players. Guess they figured there weren't a lot of openings so the draft picks weren't a big concern.

And we KNOW that no one on these boards wanted Nash more than dump, he loved that trade, and now here we sit Chuck is an idiot. Al is an idiot. Sather is an idiot. And dump loved all the moves that traded our mid to late picks in the 20's.

I mean you cannot make this stuff up dump. Kind of sucks when you actual words come back to bite you right dump...LOL.

And for the record I have ZERO issue if someone changes their mind after seeing things play out...ZERO...but for dump to knock me and Al and Sather and others when he loved these deals is comical...simply comical.

I loved those deals...now you are an idiot for making them and liking them...LOL. Only in America...:).

Those deals had to be made, and have all helped basically get them to the SC final or within a period of it. Hayes factors in getting one back, plus Buchnevich imo has 1st round ability.

I blame Chuck Lundquist for us losing and for all the bad trades and everything I don't like. ;)

I didn't want to do it Al, we all say things and sometimes are right and sometimes are wrong, part of being a fan. But for dump to be calling me, and you, and Sather, and some others idiots over and over again was ridiculous. We are all idiots for being on board with the same trades dump loved...until we lost to TB and then he hated them and we are all idiots...LOL.

What can you do. I like dump, but I have never seen someone so incapable of playing nice with others...:).
