.HF boards are too funny. The Rangers haters talk about how the Rangers farm sucks and the prospects are overrated. Now they make it seem like Duclair is a franchise prospect and the Rangers got ripped off. That board sucks on an incredible level.
I said I don't mind giving up a high pick for a difference maker. Yandle can be that. Let's face it. Boyle has sucked on the PP. He's too old and has lost it. Yandle can improve the PP. His passing skills also factor in to setting off the transition game with Kreider, Haglein, Nash and some of the other speed guys. I can live with this. Followed Duclair for over 2 years. Provided they still have their two seconds. They can take another high skill offensive player in the draft and hope it works out.
Love the moron anti Rangers fans stating we will be screwed in a few years on HF.
Miller 21
Kreider 23
Hayes 22
Hagelin 26
Stepan 24
Brassard 27
Zucc 27
Fast 23
Nash 30
McDonagh 25
Staal 28
Yandle 28
Klein 30
Girardi 30
I don't see it. I figure, develop Buch, Tambellini, Skjei, Graves and Walcott, team can still be young in a few years. They have 2 good, young goalies in the system. I think they have gone as far as they can go now giving up picks. It can't happen again after this. They need to keep their first rounders going forward.
As a big believer in Duclair, the one knock on his offense is he leaves the zone early to generate a lot of his chances. That does not work in the NHL. He has 50-60 point skill. No doubt. The fact they included him in this deal tells me three things.
1. They think Buchnevich is better.
2. They think Hayes is going to be a legit, 50 point guy.
3. They think their offense is set for 4-5 years where they don't need his finishing skills.
I would suspect other than a right handed defenseman, the Rangers are going to draft lots of offensive forwards with speed and finishing skills with their picks this year.
Well, guess they figure with St. Louis the draft picks will be a lot lower. Let's face it. They can always trade a player down the line to get picks. It's not hard to do. Buffalo has traded a lot of guys who IMO weren't all that good and got 1st and 2nd round picks. Cally got what he deserved with his stupid greed.
Bottom line was I was against giving Callahan that contract from day one. I'm glad they didn't give it to him. Miller is ready to stick on this team. Lindberg is ready to make the team. So is McIlrath with limited minutes IMO. Duclair is one the fast track. Skjei should be a pro in 3 years. Fast has a real chance of making the team. The roster has a lot of young players. Guess they figured there weren't a lot of openings so the draft picks weren't a big concern.
Cally got what he deserved. The boot. So happy we didn't pay him. He's been crap this year and he's getting old fast.
