Our frontcourt rotation has gone FUBAR (MERGED)

So with old bums Collins and Malik out, and new freshes Stromile and Diop, how the hell are the right guys going to get minutes? Someone's going to get left out, and I haven't mentioned Magloire yet!

Ideally, I think the zenith of talent is found in a Sean / Krstic front court, but Sean's lack of BBIQ and Krstic returning to form but still finding his range prohibits this. Once we could achieve this there are a couple different options:

Stromile / Boone - A very nice athletic bunch off the bench, that has some offensive potential to boot.

Stromile / Diop - Matches complimenting styles, but Boone isn't getting put to a 5th man in the rotation.

Boone / Diop - Great defense and rebounding. I'd hope to see that against the Cavs, for instance.

Unless we're going to a 5 man front court rotation, what the hell are we going to do? I think someone's going to get the short stick of Frank's rotation and probably not deserve being stuck on the bench. And for those hoping to send Magloire for Miller, that doesn't solve this issue. Yikes!

I imagine Diop will get the least time, because the team has less of their future invested in him than any of the others. I imagine for now Boone will still start with Krstic, and Sean of course will come off of the bench, so it really comes down to Swift vs. Diop. I would imagine that it really depends on what the opponent is sending out, if they have more athletes, we'll go to Swift, but if they have a more physical guy we'll use Diop.

So I have to imagine it will be situational unless one seperates from the other, either due to play or due to Frank for some reason preferring him.

I think it's improved a ton and it's very balanced.

Krstic and Boone will start.

Diop will guard the tough matchups and get a lot of minutes backing up Krstic. He takes a ton of pressure off Boone.

Sean Williams will play a lot, obviously.

Swift will just play the minutes he's been getting and will be around to push the others.

There's plenty of minutes for these guys, and they can all play aggressively because foul trouble won't mean 25 minutes of Malik Allen.

I think the Nets want to look at Diop for the rest of the season.

I think he's a pretty darn good asset and an effective role player. They have to see if he's in their plans and how much he's worth to them.

They already know what Swift brings and he isn't going anywhere.

Hopefully, that's how the rotation goes. I just hope that the acquisition of Diop doesn't hinder Boone and Sean's development.

Because, you know, first sign of Boone or Sean playing just a little bit poorly, Diop and Krstic are gonna be thrown out there.

I highly doubt it.

Boone and Williams have been playing over people who were comfortable in the system.

These guys will get their time. Both have made a ton of mistakes but it hasn't affected their court time.

Also, don't forget, after Krstic, Sean Williams might have the best jumper of the group. That's something Frank considers very important.

More athletic version. So along with the post defense you get the benefits of the ability to jump: shotblocking and rebounding

I agree with that in principle but it should all depend on matchups, something LF has always struggled with... Finding the right guy for the right situation.

If we play the Bucks for instance, Diop should be playing more on Bogut... if we play Toronto, Swift, Swat and Boone should be rotating on him.

Again, It aint gunna happen, Frank doesnt do rotations that arent blatently predictable

Switch up Stro and Diop, since Diop is more of a "Frank" player. Then, It'd look about right.

Of course, it will change depending on matchups, game situations, and the need for small ball on some nights (such as last night vs. the Bulls, with Marcus, Vince, RJ, Capitol, and Booney).
