Overton to Replace Sullivan on Bench
June 23, 2008, 10:34 am Doug Overton, who played for the Nets three times during a six year time frame, has been hired as an assistant coach, replacing Pat Sullivan. Overton played 12 seasons in the NBA and most recently served as an assistant coach at St. Joseph’s in Philadelphia. Overton spent the 2005-06 season as the director of player development for the 76ers. He played for the Nets in 1998-99, 2000-01 and 2003-04.</div>

Doug Overton kicks ass!

Wasn't Temple considering him for head coach even though he had no experience?

Aw shiz that was Rick Brunson. That makes more sense.

Still glad to have Overton back. This will no doubt be his longest stint as a Net.

Awesome. I remember him as a player his first two stints here.

Anyone saying 'Doug Overton who' has greatly let me down as a Nets fan.

Quality addition, it's good to have a guy with some real PG experience in here showing our kids what's what.

I wonder who we'll replace him with on our bench? I hope they bring back Dwayne Lee, he'd be a nice coach.

Haha, what a random choice. Not too excited...but c'mon, if you need random Nets backup point guards as assistants, why look any further than The General?

Well Doug actually has coaching experience for one...and he's a damn good one.

Sucks that the second best PG on the Nets is a coach.

Vince Carter is the second best PG (and not by much) on the Nets. Overton is third and Lawrence Frank is a fast-rising fourth. He handles like Curly Neal, has a mean standing set shot and can hit 100 straight FT blindfolded.

I still remember him as a player from a few years ago...haha is Robert Pack next? Anthony Goldwire? Hubert Davis? RODNEY ROGERS!
