This is very good news, as it gives the Pac12 a better foothold in the Portland area. I hope it also means the Pickles get a new stadium.

The whole state of the Pac 12 is a real bummer. I'm really only a Blazer fan. I don't care about any other sports ball. But I've always enjoyed jumping on the Beavers bandwagon when they're good. I'll never forget the 2001 trouncing of Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. If Oregon moves to the Big 10 and the Pac 12 dies and the Beavers end up in the mountain west or whatever I'll probably completely ignore college sports.

This Pickles thing can't possibly be real can it?

No, the Pickles thing is a joke.

You ever consider watching University of San Francisco Women’s Soccer?

Oregon, UW and perhaps Stanfird and Cal will go to the Big 10. The Pac-12 will die.

The Big12 commish is very aggressive and proactive. Many pac fans were doubting this guy a number of months back?

Oregon State is meeting with the Big-12 today (Friday). They're trying to not get left behind and are being proactive. They seem confident they're going to get an invite within the next couple weeks, which they would act quickly on and take.

Seems too good to be true. If they don't get the invite, they're pretty much screwed.

Lol. Watch Oregon State leave the PAC-12 before Oregon... That would be kind of funny.

Does Oregon need a conference? Would Oregon be better off without a conference?

I can't imagine Oregon State gets an invite. If I'm them I agree to get a tiny cut of the upcoming media deal or whatever concession to get into a big10 type conference as yes they have no other option and will be in a Portland State type of league if the Pac12 folds.

Big 12 has lost Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M - their 3 biggest football schools. That conference has a pretty weak looking future. That Colorado would want to jump to that indicates the Pac12 future is probably even weaker than many are projecting.

For the people that say this, have you looked at the teams in the Big 12? Its not even that good of a conference.

Prob the best conference in badketball.
Meh.

The schools just aren't big name big time places. The university of Houston is in the big 12 for crying out loud.

It isn't inconceivable to me that the Pac 9 or whatever sticks together, makes some additions and is just as good, if not better than the Big 12.
