so am I getting this right that Cal and Stanford would be guaranteed games with The rest of California AND so would Utah and Colorado? They sure have a deep tradition in the Pac 10. If thats the case I'd rather just keep Cal and Stanford with the rest of California schools and bring Utah and Colorado up North. At least that way the games played down in California are more equal. Unless I am completely missing something that is lol.
I prefer to have it this way. I think Oregon has a chance to dominate the northern division and will easily be able to convince kids from SoCal to come to Eugene and win titles.
There's trade-offs. All non-Cali schools get two Cali-schools in their division, but the four Cali schools will get to play each other each year. The NW gives up Southern California, but gains equal revenue sharing.
Should have called it East/West instead of North/South. Would be closer to true.
WSU is slightly further east than the LA schools, but both Utah and Colorado are north of the bay area schools.
Every two years two NW schools will be left out of the USC/UCLA matchups, so those two could be fighting it out for SDSU! Unless for some reason SDSU wants to play two Pac-10 schools every single season.
