Recently, there was a rumor that the Portland Trail Blazers were on the outskirts of the Carmelo Anthony trade talks. Tonight, Chris Boussard of ESPN.com reports that the Denver Nuggets, New Jersey Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers nearly pulled off a three-team trade that would have sent Anthony to the Nets. The Nuggets, in turn, would have received Nets point guard Devin Harris, who would have been re-directed to the Portland Trail Blazers...

Because it has Ty Lawson, Denver doesn't have much need for Harris. But the Nuggets were hoping they might be able to send Harris, whom Portland covets, to the Trail Blazers for Andre Miller and Nicolas Batum, according to sources. It was most likely wishful thinking because Portland has no intention of moving Batum.
