Merrick's lap around Panama GC featured five birdies and 13 pars. Statistical information is not available for the event, but it is clear that the PGA TOUR veteran is off to a promising start in the opening Web.com Tour event of the 2016 season.
Ryan Armour won the Web.com Tour's season-openingPanama Claro Championship on Sunday for his first victory in 217 career starts.
The 39-year-old former Ohio State player closed with a 6-under 64 in hot and windy conditions for a three-stroke victory over Kyle Thompson. Armour finished at 12-under 268 at Panama Golf Club and earned $112,500.
