Perfect situation for him. I've long been a fan, since his college days.

In that system, I could see him developing into a worthwhile NBA player.

Two year deal, with a player option in the second year. Also got an offer from Detroit.

So we renounce his rights...and are reportedly working on a buyout for S. Williams to get the roster to 14. Wonder if there is something else in the works to fill out the roster. Isn't Aaron Brooks winding up his season in China? Could we be positioning ourselves to add another guard, or someone like Turiaf who will reportedly be waived on Monday?

Perfect situation for him there. Great coach, available burn and to play on a winning organization. KUDOS!

I don't think we are adding anyone else. I think Portland will be watching Flynn mainly and possibly a little of Thabeet, just to see if he could turn things around. Adding Patty Mills or Brooks, will only take playing time away from Smith and Flynn. Also, adding a Brooks will add more contracts. I think this team wants the most available cap space coming in this summer.

If he had to go to another team, I'm glad he went to the Spurs. I was sort of hoping he'd come back and cheer everybody up, but maybe they don't need that now.
