Wheels mentioned on Rip City Mornings that Paul addressed the team after the loss last night, and that he got visibly choked up talking about how proud he was of our guys.

Wheels said that had never happened before. I haven't seen it reported anywhere else. Pretty cool though. Paul is the ultimate Blazer fan.

It is going to to back to SPAM in the organization for the next few years and Paul is going to have no problem with that with the way we are playing.

It was a season unlike any other for the Trail Blazers, and when it was over Wednesday, owner Paul Allen delivered a speech unlike any other he has at the end of a season.

With his voice cracking with emotion, Allen stood before the Blazers and told them he was proud. Proud of how hard they worked. Proud of how they stayed together. And ultimately, proud of how far they advanced, pushing the reigning NBA champions to the limit during a thrilling 4-1 defeat in the Western Conference Semifinals.

A private and introverted man, Allen has almost always made a short speech to his team after a season. But few could recall one ever rivaling Wednesday’s, both in length and emotion.

“What he said came from the heart,’’ Damian Lillard said. “You could hear it in his voice. He really meant what he was saying. He saw that we left it out there, and he saw how bad we wanted it. And he felt it, he felt what we did.’’

This article also continues to show that Harkless wants to be on this team bad next year.

Quick talked about that in depth last night after the game on Talkin' Ball. Said it was very moving and the players were moved as well. Look forward to reading the article.

Glad the young man has found a home, and a family.

There was a brief shot of Hark sitting next to Kaman on the bench late in the game last night. It was clear Chris was coaching him, and it was clear Hark was looking and listening with attention and respect, like listening to a tribal elder. It was cool and it speaks well to his coachability and desire to do well.

We are very fortunate fans to have such a fantastic owner. He deserves a big thank you for this season too.

He has, literally, more invested in this team than all of us put together, yet he is still one of us. I will always be grateful that the owner of my favorite team is a huge fan of that team and not some faceless ownership group.

Kaman probably tries to play one more year but if not then I sure would love him on the coaching staff in some capacity.

Wallet. Opened.
Seriously. Paul in the past has spent so much money on groups of unpopular underachieving ingrates, it's no wonder he tightened the purse strings a little. I'd expect that if he has genuine affection for these players, their brotherhood, and their work ethic, he'll be more than willing to take care of them and to help them succeed. Like family.

Yet he still, somehow, found a way to enjoy their unexpected success. Imagine that.

As did I. I mean you were there with me.....Oh that's right, you have no idea about my passion for the team.

So is this a thing again? You're going to follow me around from thread to thread and do your best to belittle me? Who's a big man? You are. What a big man....good boy

Class act.

We are so lucky to have Allen as owner of the team. Actually, we are lucky to have Merrit Paulson and Allen as owners of both local franchises. I'd it ever came to outside ownership, the moment they asked for a publicly financed stadium..... "bye bye!"
