Pendergraph. Aldridge has sprainy ankles.
barfo
Serious thread.
Games Missed in Career said:Aldridge: 26 (and counting)
Pendergraph: 29

If Jeff Pendergraph is the Second Coming of Brian Grant, and LaMarcus Aldridge is "Sheed without the 'tude" - then it is an interesting debate that recalls decisions Mike Dunleavy made back at the turn of the century, to start Grant and use Sheed as a 6th man. Only problem is - Grant had shown far more offensive ability than Pendergraph, and had a long record of consistency on defense. I'd definitely take Aldridge. But I like Pendergraph off the bench.
The question to me should be this - backup PF: Outlaw vs. Pendergraph?
I got $20 that says Pendergraph knocks out Aldridge by the second round.
I'd say Pendy>Outlaw as a backup PF...He is ideal for what we need. Plus that mid range jumper doesn't look too bad.
Also, Pendergraph has never had over 30 points in a game, while Aldridge has done it more than once. Pendergraph has never had an 18 rebound game or a 5 block game like LMA (Aldridge has had more than one 5 block game). Plus, Aldridge has already had 2 games THIS YEAR in which he had 12 DEFENSIVE rebounds (Pendergraph has never had 12 Defensive rebounds in a game )![]()

this is the one statement that I agree with.
I agree with Nik and PD- that it should be Outlaw vs Pendy for back up PF... that is the REAL question.
If Jeff P can keep up his current level of production and ferocity, I would lean toward Pendy in that debate. The last thing this team needs is more softy jump shooters, IMO.
Aldridge is just so much more proven that A v P isn't even a question.... they are also completely different and probably complimentary players. A banger backup PF is what many (including me) have thought we needed for a long time. I couldn't be more stoked if our 2nd rounder turns into a serviceable option there.
This...

to use KS logic:
Even in his best game ever as a pro, JP couldn't beat out 36 y/o former All-Star Howard for 4th quarter minutes
Howard couldn't beat out a healthy LMA for 4th quarter minutes.
therefore, JP<JH<LMA
By the associative principle, JP<LMA.
