PENDY out for year - torn ACL

Welcome to our community

We need ourselves a team witch doctor to ward off all the bad karma we apparently are surrounded by.

Seems no matter who plays center for Portland, they go down in a heap. Get well soon GO, JP & JP.

A mod should merge this with the "Pendergraph hurt" thread

I disagree.

I wouldn't have looked at that thread expecting an update on his injury situation.

On topic, this sucks. True, Pendergraph isn't a tremendous value on the court, but he's occupying a roster spot and we're already down two big men. bad start. Hopefully the last serious injury we have.

Also... if only he hadn't tried so damn hard in pre-season, eh Shooter? :D

That's exactly why I was looking at it and exactly why I posted the injury update in that thread 8 minutes before this thread was made.. I think the title of the thread should be this threads. Not that it matters at all though.

Now we have no back-up centers healthy until Joel or Greg get back, and we don't know when that will be.

I'd take this opportunity to add Matthews to the starting lineup:

Andre / Roy / Matthews / Batum / LMA
Bayless / Rudy / Dante / Camby / Camby

^^^^ Batum as the starting PF??? He'd be pushed all over the court.

Very True! Hes a big body in the middle, not a bad idea for insurance.

Damp is going to want a full 1 year deal minimum, not going to happen.

God damn! And the thought of Nic at the PF position is a fucking joke!

What the fuck! one of 4 centers is healthy, and he is an aged vet with a history of injury.

Good luck Pendy!

Now we need to make a trade.

82games has him playing about 40min there last year...but you're right that he got worked to a -11 PER Diff.

How about snatching up Turiaf? New York might not use him a whole lot, he's nothing special but is an upgrade from Turiaf. Think they'd like to have Joel's expiring contract which is of greater value in a trade for Melo? Or maybe it makes sense to send Rudy there? Hell I'd let go of Bayless and give his minutes to combination of Rudy/Matthews/Johnson and Roy (at backup PG).

I'd love to get Seraphin too, not sure how high the wizards are on him, but he's a ways off from "contributing."

As far as non-French guys go Dampier wouldn't be a bad move at this point, but the only thing I don't like is then you (hypothetically) have 4 guys that pretty exclusively play 5 on the team, even though Camby can play spot minutes at 4. Dante better be ready because he's gonna get some minutes!

Oleksiy Pecherov and Brian Skinner are available. :sigh:

Drafxespress' #1 rated European FA is Yiannis Bouroussis, a 6'11" C compared to Troy Murphy.

FWIW

Are you being serious? Why wouldn't the team give him a full one year minimum deal?
