As already stated, this was a tough loss, but there are lessons to learn.

We also still have a shot at the Natty. ND must lose as the SEC is guaranteed a spot now with any 1 loss team. If ND loses, then we probably have a 60% chance if we win out. Otherwise, if we win out, it's the Rose Bowl. I can live with that.

How do we get to the Rose Bowl if Stanford beats UCLA?

UCLA is a very good team this year, it's not like Stanford is going to Washington State next week.... UCLA has at least a 50% chance GO BRUINS!!!

UCLA is jacked up after the win against USC and Stanford escaped Autzen! I give huge energy and home field to the Bruins!

If Standford loses then I cna live with a pc-12 Championship and a rose bowl birth. To not be in the Pac 12 championship would just feel so bad. This is the best Oregon team i'v watched in god knows how long and to end the season with 1 loss but get nothing for it would hurt.

I feel that if we played Standford 10 times, we'd win 9 of them. To watch Stanford beat UCLA and take our spot on the title game would be a bitter pill. For a team that is legitimately one of the 3 or 4 best in the nation to not be in a BSC bowl would be a crime.

Relax, we will get the at-large for the Fiesta or the Orange if we win out. Oregon won't be ignored in the BCS.

I am thinking God has a hard on for all the states south of the Maxon Dixon line

Seriously. I don't know which would disgust me more: Notre Dame in the NC game, or another all-SEC NC game. I'm torn.

I'm not worried about getting a BCS invite (IF we can take care of the Beavs) -- it's potentially losing the PAC-12 that really stings. I suppose that's just a sign of how high our expectations have risen as a fan-base, but seeing Stanford or UCLA take that away from us would hurt.

I don't have a problem not winning the PAC-12 so long as we're beaten out by a better team. I still think, overall, we're the top team in the PAC-12 and if we miss out on the chance to play for the title game I'll be a bit bummed.

Silver lining--Stanford in the Rose and UO in the Fiesta means 2 BCS berths for the conference, which means more money for every Pac-12 school. Plus, maybe we still get to see that UO-KSU matchup in the Fiesta that we were all hoping to see in the NCG.

If Oregon wins out they are 99% guaranteed to be in a BCS bowl

If Stanford beats UCLA this week and in the championship game, Stanford will go to the Rose bowl and Oregon will go to the Fiesta bowl as an at large school

If Stanford beats UCLA this wee and loses next week then UCLA will go to the Rose bowl and Oregon will still go to the Fiesta bowl as an at large school

If UCLA wins this week and Oregon beats UCLA in the championship game then Oregon goes to either the Rose bowl or the BCS title game (depending on what happens elsewhere)

Even if UCLA beats Stanford this week and Oregon in the championship game, Oregon would still be a BSC at large school in the Fiesta bowl

Dang, that almost got complicated.

I heard on the radio today that UCLA will "do everything in their power to lose" this week at home against Stanford b/c they want no part of coming to Autzen (assuming the Ducks beat the Beavers). I don't buy that. Maybe their odds are better of winning at Paulo Alto the next week than if they had to come to Autzen (to get to the Rose Bowl), but who loses a game on purpose for a better match-up?

Yes I too worried about a possiblity of UCLA tanking the game as not to see us in Autzen! That said, playing Stanford twice might not be the smartest thing for the Bruins in back to back weekends!

Maybe not, but the fact is this game is simply not a must-win for them. If they are down by more than a touchdown in the 3rd or 4th, expect second-stringers for the rest of the game. Forget about matchups -- why would they risk injury to their starters in a game against a physical opponent if a win would gain them almost nothing?
