Peter Uihlein fought through windy afternoon conditions to grab the outright lead
AMERICAN Peter Uihlein fought through windy afternoon conditions to grab the outright lead after the opening day at the $1.75m ISPS HANDA Perth International.
On a day where much of the low scoring was done in the calm morning setting at Lake Karrinyup, Uihlein bucked the trend late to rocket to a seven-under 65 and set the Thursday pace.
The World no.186 bogeyed the first – one of the course’s easiest holes – before a string of birdies and a 60-foot chip-in eagle at the ninth.
