If one of you has some time, could you please look up stats vs Houston for our SG and SF matchup vs Houston.

Last night we got drilled and Batum and Matthews we way worse than Leonard, Ginobili and Belineli

Just curious to see if the pattern works

They were missing wide open shots. That's what frustrates me. Wes has not played well in the playoffs. He had that one good game, but other than that he hasn't really done well.

So to answer your question:

Against Houston:

Wes - 15.3 ppg, 41% FG and 30% from three, 2.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.

Nic - 15.8 ppg, 46.4% FG and 30.3% from three, 5.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists, 1.3 steals.

So they were complete rubbish last night. I don't think that will continue. What's been really frustrating is their three point shooting in the playoffs. 30% and 30.3% respectively. What.... the.... fuck?

I guess I was looking for more of a game by game stat.

Thanks though for the effort

The playoffs aren't the regular season. Both Carlisle and Popovich have committed to not allowing the Blazers any open threes.

We're getting open threes. We're not hitting them.

Not as many, so it's hard to get a rhythm going, and they're also taking more contested 3s and missing them, which messes with a shooter's confidence.

The Spurs did an exceptional job yesterday of taking away the three. That's why I would like to see more Barton. Either Barton or CJ because both of them like to slash and attack the rim. The Spurs don't have a great shot blocker, not like Dwight Howard, so I would like to see us attack the rim more.

And at the very least, SA will have little to no tape on Barton or CJ. They won't have game plans ready for them. We should be able to steal a game or two simply through that.

Dude, we didn't hit shit and then we were down by 15+ they just gave up.

The freaking pick and rolls where Damian just gets tangle up into old-man TD? Come on, be aware, go around. Make him shoot threes, its better than a mid-range or layup, jesus.

Everyone else was just not in the game.

I have lost all faith in CJ. Hopefully he shows something early next season (if we don't trade him this summer). I've changed my outlook on him to "Martell Webster".

How did you get to this state? We've barely seen him play.

Yeah I don't get it. The guy has barely played in over a year. He missed half the season. He tried to break into the rotation of a playoff team. Cut the kid some slack.

Well, to be honest, I was never that high on him - given his position and size he's always maxed out as a 6th man, IMO. But when he has played he just looks kinda lost like Webster use to look. He has some pretty parts to his game - like Webster had a nice looking jumper - but he doesn't really know how to play the game other than dominating the ball or being a set-shooter from 3.
I'd definitely look into what we could trade him for this summer. Keep Barton, trade CJ.

And next season, when expectations are even higher, he's going to break into the rotation? On a team that badly needs defense? I say sell while there's still value and get someone better suited to fill our holes.

Batum and Mathews have to be more effective on offense. If the shots aren't falling I want Batum to start creating off the dribble, Mathews to attack the rim. It's smart basketball to take what the defense gives you but they can't be passive, they should be able to force the issue if needed.

I think Wheels said after the 1st qtr we had shot 18% from the field as a team. I think it's a fluke. Halftime LA was the only double digit scorer with 13? Nerves and unRocketlike defenders in your face. That game was the definition of getting schooled
