I have never heard of an NBA team being fined for showing a replay - UNLESS the replay clearly showed a REF screwing up.

I understand he missed the game with severe hemroid inflammation, but these excuses are so lame.

Byron Scott is not a championship caliber coach, kudos to that hire! Thanks Captain Obvious
PS. Byron Scotts contract ends the same time Phil does
PSS Kurt Rambis is one of the top candidates of getting an NBA head coaching job, Lakers or another team
Key words: "We are going to be"
lets just wait until you get past the first round there buddy...baby steps![]()

he can't even get his team to freaking put effort out during the game
What happened to you Rizzle? The Lakers lost their last two to the Blazers and you had a meltdown? The Cavs took the best record in the NBA and you snapped? The Lakers lost five games in March and you pulled your hair out? I even saw that you posted a thread trashing The Machine. Has your entire world turned upside down? Do you wander aimlessly at night, muttering? Do you have nightmares of Brandon Roy's crossover, Rudy Fernandez hitting threes, Nic Batum dunking on Pau Gasol, and Greg Oden making Bynum look like a child? It's alright Rizzle. It's going to be alright. Jerry West will appear when you rub the magic bottle and he will make it alllllll right.

Oh god, please, please let it be true.
He did a GREAT job running the team last night. How many points did the Lakers score in the last 3 minutes of the game?
Oh, that's right ZERO.
Yeah, that's future head coaching material right there. Rambis already had his shot a decade ago and in spite of having Shaq in his prime, plus Kobe (and Glen Rice) they got swept by the Spurs in the second round.
Yes, please bring back Clark Kent as your head coach. Just like last night, his role 10 years ago was to keep the bench warm for Phil. When it comes to being a head coach, Kurt Rambis hasn't a clue - as was clearly demonstrated by his "play calling" in the 4th quarter last night.

Speaking of the Machine...
How about you take a look at his record as a coach instead of pulling a Kingspeed and mention one game

How many championships has he won as a coach? Isn't that what it's all about? Or did that just apply to the Blazers?
He didnt try to beat the Lakers...he knows where his loyalties lie
What the f are you babbling about. The only NBA team he's ever coached is the Lakers - and that ended in the embarrassment of getting swept in the 2nd round.

Whoops, I thought we were back to talking about Scott...my bad

I find it really funny Jackson couldn't even show up. Every time he comes to Portland, he always bitches and bitches about everything from the weather to the fans to the clean air to pre-game video to the color of the sky.
So he doesn't even bother to show up... I'm sure because he couldn't handle the fault of losing again in Portland. And the all he does is bitch. If you don't have the balls to show up, you don't have the right to bitch.

I think he switched to Byron Scott or something, randomly.
DaRizzle getting a little rattled. I'm amazed that he sees Byron Scott and Kurt Rambis as two star coaches that LA has a line on. I'm sure he's lined up Michael Redd as the future superstar to replace Kobe, too. LA is going to be great forever...![]()
So you think the Lakers just have their thumbs up their collective butts not planning on Phils retirement? Ok...
No, I think Scott and Rambis are absolutely nothing special as coaches. Phil Jackson is a great coach (though I think his much-vaunted "mind games" are irrelevant). More likely than not, LA is going to be facing a serious coaching downgrade when he retires.

dont flatter yourself...He is resting cause the flight screws with his leg. He is just resting up for the flights for the games that actually matter![]()
Very good chance of that...but the Lakers always seem to figure something out![]()
After the Magic Johnson era, two men created their latest success: Jerry West and Phil Jackson. West is long gone and Jackson will be soon. Kupchak is a competent GM, but not brilliant. Inheriting Kobe Bryant has been crucial to this team's success, though he certainly made good complementary moves in acquiring Gasol and Bynum. Not always. After the Magic Johnson era, two men created their latest success: Jerry West and Phil Jackson. Once Jackson is gone and the last legacy of West, Kobe Bryant, is gone too...I think LA will be like any other team. Jerry West made LA such a long-time great franchise. Maybe they can luck into another brilliant GM (and head coach), but odds are against it.
