Phoenix Suns interested in David Vanterpool

I live in AZ, so tired of the Suns org. NBA needs to get rid of Sarver. He has no idea how to run an organization. Suns have been so bad for so long. Nobody even talks about the Suns down here.

DV and Tibbets have had so many head coach interviews over the past few years. Woj has been pumping him like mad too (check out how many name checks DV has on his tweets over the past few weeks).

Surprised neither of them have landed a gig yet. Would be a big loss especially given how close DV is to Dame.

They should move to Seattle.

Don't lose hope. When that organization gets going again (And they will) you will have a great time enjoying success.

Suns have a lot of great pieces. I good PG, good coach and a few years to season and they could be the next Philly.

The Suns could do a lot worse. DV or Monty both are quality men, not just coaches. DV was THIS close to getting the Magic job last summer. He will be missed, but he would be DAMN good head coach.

I's be surprised if Monty would want that job because of the owner.

Proof that fans need to be careful what they wish for with respect to coaching changes.

Too many fans have the "grass is greener" mentality to coaches, and it very rarely turns out to be true.
On the otherhand, Seven years with Terry is also quite long in this day and age, especially when he has only won 2 playoff series.

I want Monty to get a head coaching job but really, I don't want Phoenix to get better at all and I want Dave to stay by Dame's side for now...Thibs is looking for a job, Van Gundy is looking for a job, there are a lot of unemployed experienced coaches out there. Sam Mitchell, Rick Pitino, etc...some of the elite college coaches should get interviews for lottery teams...Gonzaga's coach would rock the Suns.

A first time head coach walking into that mess?....NO WAY..
Remember when Joey Harrington went to the lions?
DV deserves better than that.
Perhaps okc or the laker job instead but Phoenix?
Don't take a job just cos you can.

Yet almost every year, the team has outperformed generally agreed upon expectations.

Que the "Lillard deserves that credit" response... which is partly true. But then people should be calling for replacing Lillard due to the 2 playoff series wins. The reality is that Lillard is an amazing player and leader, and Stotts has done a pretty darn good job as coach.

It reminds me of the 49er fans down here who were convinced that replacing Jim Harbaugh would be the solution to winning the Superbowl. All that happened was a complete disaster and multiple coaching changes and losing seasons.

Ugh, these bottom-feeders should have to wait until AFTER the playoffs (or at least until said team/coach have been eliminated) before they distract coaches from their current job(s).

I mean, I understand these are potentially huge moments in the careers of these individuals (in this case, Vanterpool and Tibbetts), but they are currently fulfilling professional obligations with a team that is still competing for an NBA Championship.

Please politely proceed to FUCK OFF until after the NBA Finals, and our subsequent parade down Broadway! Thanks!

a few more years, i think we said that a few more years ago down here. By the way I am not a big Booker fan. Great talent, but always hurt.

Good points as this team has pretty much over achieved every season with Stotts as the coach. You can please some of the people all the time, all the people some of the time but almost impossible to please all of the people all of the time. This forum is a perfect example of that.

Mark Jackson was on the Stephen A show yesterday essentially auditioning for another opportunity. It is not looking like it worked.
