If the final order remains the same as today, the Blazers will have....
Pick 5 (our own)
Pick 15 (From GS)

GS struggling lately, and that's good news for Blazer fans, and anyone who finds GS annoying.

Warriors have lost 5 in a row.
Curry didn't play tonight against OKC, don't know his deal.
Draymon missed tonight, serving the 1st game (I think) of a 5 game suspension.
Warriors next game is also against OKC, who they lost to by 19 tonight.

Kay Thompson having a poor start in a contract year, age/injury accumulation may be catching up with him

most players are never the same after rupturing their Achilles. Klay has been like most players

Yep, Klay was much better last yr, his start this season if it continues will not bode well for his next contract. Supposedly he's been negotiating an extension with Dubs but it ain't going anywhere so far, he probably wants a LOT

Klay from '3' after his Achilles injury:

2021-22: .385 with 20.4 ppg
2022-23: .412 with 21.9 ppg
2023-24: .329 with 13.8 ppg
......so far.

Looks like he recovered well enough and that perhaps Father Time is just finally catching up. This year is a dramatic fall off from the previous 7 season where he played.

This is one of those situations where I would side with the front office. They gave Klay a max extension AFTER his achilles tear and he gets injured for another season after that one. I get that the last contract like Kobe’s last contract is usually like a “we’re taking care of you for all your services to us over the years” but the Dubs already took care of Klay the last time.

Yikes. He even hit the top of the backboard on one of his misses.

It's possible Klay is cooked for good. He had an incredible run but all things must pass.

Dubs took care of Klay already with the last max, not sure what leverage Klay has. I see that pick for us getting better the more Klay tries to prove himself.

Update: GS loses in OT

Blazers own pick: 3-way tie for4th
GS pick: 11

2 lotto picks, baby!!
Top 3: Sarr, Buzelis, Holland

Then the next tier includes a few PGs (Collier, Castle, Topic) and both Risacher and Edwards could be in the mix there somewhere.

The next tier is going to include a bunch of bigs. Another lotto pick between 8-12 would change the trajectory of this team and speed up this rebuild, even with the “worst draft in years” label attached to it.

While I'm happy the W's 2024 pick has been getting better for PDX, I very much doubt this is the new reality for Klay. While he's off to a bad start of this season, he closed out the 2022-3 season statistically crushing. He's a shooter & his shots been off. Plus not being a creator offensively, it impacts his game when Curry and Draymond are out as they've been. Where Klay is not the same as he was prior to the injuries is defensively. Along with incredible endurance he was pretty elite at being able to stay in front of the opponent's top scorer 1-3 and thats just not the case anymore.

Who knows what the future holds with injuries ect... but I'm expecting the pick to end up around 20.

STOMP

GS loses a heartbreaker, Portland loses. Currently,
Blazers own pick: tie for 4
GS pick: tied for 11

still, 2 lotto picks, baby!!
