We haven't had the lottery yet right? This is just to determine ping pong balls, yeah?

Unless we get in the top 3, we have the 10th pick.

The first three picks in the draft will be determined by the lottery among the 14 teams that did not reach the playoffs. The remainder of the lottery teams will select in positions 4 through 14.

I'm confused!

That stupid article is absolutely wrong. The drawing simply eliminated ties. It established the seedings in the lottery, which will determine draft order. To repeat, the draft order will not be known till the lottery. We will be 10th seed at the lottery, and we might draft at 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, or 13.

Actually, scratch #13. I thought that .000 meant "under .0005 rounded." But now I see that our other probabilities add to 1.001, which must already include rounding error. So our #13 probability is truly zero.

Hey, that's the 2nd mistake you've made since 1959, you're slipping. Well, not counting the JJ thing.....

This is the first one I remember since 1959. And what's this about JJ?

I could have sworn you said you made you're first mistake since 1959 the other day. Perhaps I was mistaken........it happens once a millenium and I made one in 1994.

The JJ thing was just a jab about mistaking him for a better player than LMA.

Sporting News has some interesting guys falling to our pick (or close):

No way do I think the bigs they have going that high will actually go there but I hope so. We could use Oladipo or Shabazz badly.

9. Minnesota Timberwolves. Victor Oladipo, SG, Indiana. Oladipo made big plays in the NCAA tournament and has moved himself into the lottery. He is a shut-down defender who has improved his shot.

10. Portland Trail Blazers. Shabazz Muhammad, SG, UCLA. Muhammad averaged 17.9 points for the Bruins, but was a little predictable—he isn’t a great athlete and will need to diversify his game to score against NBA defenders. But he does have a strong knack for scoring.

We are getting #2 or the #3 pick.

I think the same player we could pick if we got #3 might be there at #10 if we don't get a top 3 pick.

Weak draft at the top. Deep in the middle of the 1st. Then week again towards the end.

I think we trade the #2, #3 pick.

This is one of the few drafts were I think a lot of teams will want to trade back not up. Problem is you have to find a partner that will move up.

What I mean by that is outside of the 1st pick I don't see teams rushing to move up and give you a nice bounty.

Honestly I don't think we lose much value in a draft night trade for a big man with only having the 10th pick vs the 3rd in this draft.

I was thinking more in the lines of a playoff team trading with us. Not trading picks, but for an actual player.

I talking about that as well. We would have to make the pick for them anyways.

Just don't see the huge jump there. Of course I not going to turn down a top 3 pick (especially if we are trading it to improve).

Fixed that for you.

I had started to add a "/Sonics". Then, I figured if Seattle got the team, and they got the #1 pick, people would really start to believe the draft lottery was rigged. But then, if Sacto gets to keep the Kings, and they get the #1, that'd probably invoke the same thoughts.

Yeah, its a Catch 22.

I don't believe the lottery is rigged, but if the Kings/Sonics get the #1 pick after the Hornets getting the #1 pick last year, it would certainly raise my suspicions.

I just hit the sim on ESPN and PDX got the firs pick, and of as expected it had us picking Noel...but do you think with our track history, we would take a kid with a fucked up knee?

I think its a real possibility depending on how his knee looks. I think we would need to be blown away by one of the SGs in workouts and interviews for us to pass on Noels.
