That's what Wild Rice is hinting on Twitter.

If he's healthy, or as healthy as he can be, I think he'd be a steal with the vet minimum.

He could provide solid production with limited minutes.

But I agree, Joel and Kurt aren't exactly the type of frontcourt upgrades I was hoping for.

I would much rather take a flier on a undrafted big or a D-leaguer.

If he can be effective for 5-10 minutes a game I say go for it!
Bringing him back would be a good business move IMO. The fans here love him!

Kurt Thomas> Earl Barron/Chris Johnson

That's what I call an upgrade.

I could see bringing him in if we didn't sign Kurt. But do we need camby/Kurt/Joel/Chris Johnson at C? Really, I think if Camny goes down, AND Kurt goes down, then it's time to give Johnson a chance. And if not, then Joel wouldn't play, because there'll be many times we go small, with LMA at C. So finding another PF might make mroe sense.

The sentimental part of me would be happy to see Joel retire a Blazer, but honestly how much can he possibly have left after the injuries he's suffered through the past couple of years?

I think we should be looking for a bench player who can play both PF and C. Joel is C only. With all the back to back games this season, the Blazers would be smart to have more versatility at the PF spot.

Are these guys still available for vet. min?
Etan Thomas?
Chris Wilcox?
Dunleavy?
Leon Powe?
Peja?
Craig Smith?
Steve Novak?
Alexis Ajinca?
Yi? :)

I thought Dunleavy signe somewhere. (Milwaukie)

Craig Smith is another guys who always seems to play well against us. A Short PF but big. 6'7" 265lbs

We already are: Chris Johnson and possibly also Earl Barron.
Joel would be insurance.

I'm fine with this: he sets great picks and he's a good guy. We need a lot of depth with the compressed season. He can play 10-15 mpg every other game or so...

I don't know what they have in plans for free-agency but I'd look into some kind of Kris Humphries deal via sign-and-trade using Wallace or Camby.

10 PPG | 10 RPG | 1.1 BPG | 17.8 PER | 105 DRtg | 25 years old

There's a reason this is called Plan-B. I'd like to treat this idea in the same fashion Plan-B is intended to work: nip it in the bud before it takes off.

I don't see Chris Johnson getting much respect on blazer message boards. Am I the only one that think he's a stud? The guy looks like he has the knack to block shots. He's a 7 footer with outstanding hops. He can finish around the rim.....

A stud? C'mon Blazers fans, we are better than this

This guy is probably too modest too give himself props so I gotta say "Good call, Pinwheel!"
