Player wish-list: one player you want in a trade for Dame?

Raptors get: Damian Lillard, Nassir Little
Blazers get: Scottie Barnes, Gary Trent Jr., Chris Boucher, Thaddeus Young, Otto Porter Jr., Toronto’s unprotected first-round pick in 2028, and a pick swap in 2029

Barnes is on a rookie contract, won ROY, and is 21 years old. Dame is 33 on a supermax. Were not getting picks from Toronto.

Barnes, Trent Jr, Porter Jr, Thad Young matches salaries so Toronto can keep Boucher. Makes a lot of sense for both teams.

I'd do that deal. If the Blazers can flip Ant and Nurk for Ayton or something like that they'd actually have a legit starting 5; but still have tons of youth and upside.

Dame's "1 team list" almost makes it easier to flip him to a team like Toronto regardless of what he wants. If Dame had give 3 or 4 teams it might've looked bad for the Blazers to not accommodate. When its one team and their best asset is Tyler Herro the list is a joke.

A year ago this would've been 95-5 No. The lack of progress in certain areas has made some fans impatient. Ujiri can be ruthless and he'd trade Scottie for a championship unless he thought Scottie could get him more than one.
