Matthews: Wins: 46.8%, Losses: 38.1%
Batum: Wins: 45.7%, Losses: 39%
Lillard: Wins: 45.2%, Losses: 38.8%
Aldridge: Wins: 48.5%, Losses: 46%
Hickson: Wins: 57.8%, Losses: 53%

Bench: Wins: 42%, Losses: 26%

It seems that winning has more to do with our wings being able to consistently score efficiently; with help from the bench.

I know this seems pretty obvious; but I'm just pointing out how important it is for Batum, Lillard and Matthews to have a good shooting game. Are their ways to improve on this?

Try checking our wins in regards to 3-pt shooting percentages.

Win by the 3, lose by the 3
Unfortunately that's Stotts' method. I haven't soured on him yet, but there are things about him that will cause a souring a season or two down the road if things don't change. For now though, I'm still quite happy he's our coach.

Win by the 3, lose by the 3

Well I was looking at the splits on basket-ball reference and we actually shoot more and make more on the road. Not by much, but still more. We have a road record of 7-14 and a home record of 16-8. I don't see how this applies.

Does anyone else know how to find this stat with more efficiency?

In wins, we make 9.3 3 pointers out of 25.1 shot (37.0%). In losses, we make 6.9 out of 23.1 shot (29.9%). We also have 3.7 more assists on 5.6 more FG makes (2.4 of which are 3 pointers) per game in wins than in losses.

I was wondering when you or BNM would chime in and give us what we need! --- repped!

I would have been faster, but I was editing my boss's PowerPoint slide deck before his big presentation in an hour.

Oh and that assist thing could be just the assisted shots are actually falling. When we miss; most the time they could be assists if it just went in.

Oh that's definitely true, it's a trailing indicator... but I had the stats there so I added it in.

I think on general observation, rebounding and blocks are another indicator. I'm curious on that dynamic too. I suspect we block, steal and rebound at a much better rate on our wins. At least that's what I feel when I watch the games.

We get one and a half more blocks in wins than in losses, as I recall (I don't have it open right now). In our close games, that makes a serious difference. Wish I could see Charges Taken as a stat.

Which website are you using for checking on the stats?

Oh great stat guru, could you please tell me, or show me where to look, to quickly decide how often teams win when they get the first 10 points (not 100)?

What your stat tells me is that Aldridge is consistent like an All Star should be.

Wish I knew; if I had access to the play-by-play data in a less constrained reporting environment, I could do the report myself and tell you... but as it stands, we can only ask the basketball-reference oracle so many questions.

Where's the stat for scrap?

Heh. I'd like to see some esoteric stat adding up plays broken up (that do or don't result in steals), blocked shots, offensive rebounds, charges taken, and opponent technicals called while in the game, minus turnovers, fouls, and technicals. Call it the PRZY.
