Where'd you see this?

Re: Lillard and LA make West Reserve All Star Team

I thought they didn't announce it until tomorrow?

Are you sure those are legit? Chris Paul might not be ready to play by then (if he WAS ready, he does deserve it)

Re: Lillard and LA make West Reserve All Star Team

No Dirk? He definitely deserves to get in over Lillard. If Kobe or CP3 sits I'd assume commissioner picks him as a replacement.

Saw it on hoophype . . . I'll look for a link

Edit: damn . . . I would blame it on not having coffee but I'm drinking it right now:

here is the actual story:

Jorge Sierra: Asked a bunch of NBA players about their picks for reserves at the All-Star Game. This is how they voted... East reserves: John Wall, Lance Stephenson, Chris Bosh, Joe Johnson, DeMar DeRozan, Joakim Noah and Roy Hibbert. Twitter @HoopsHype
Jorge Sierra: West reserves: LaMarcus Aldridge, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tony Parker, James Harden and Tim Duncan. Twitter @HoopsHype

I think over Duncan, yes, but not sure over Lillard (since they don't play the same position, and the team is devoid of PGs)

NBA coaches, not players pick the reserves, right?

Internet voting finished on January 20. The starters were announced on January 23 during a special TNT show. NBA coaches will complete the rosters with 7 reserve players on Thursday 30.

You still have to wait one more day Sparky.

Kyle Lowry should get in over Lance.

The team only needs 4 guards. They have 6.

I don't understand why people think the Blazers should get two allstars because they have a good record but then another team with a better record should have one?

Re: Lillard and LA make West Reserve All Star Team

Dirk and Duncan are having great seasons but are being way undervalued since they are "boring" old players.

Mods: shouldn't Draco be suspended for his over-use of logic and reason?

I think they use the electoral college.

So this is a random poll of some players thoughts on who should be all-stars... Might as well poll the fans here it means just as much as what the players think. None of them nor us have any input on the final selections.

The electoral college was just eliminated by executive order. The President now gets to pick his own successor.

Thanks, yes it’s so very strange as I hear fans say Duncan and Parker shouldn't be all-stars and Durant is the single player “best in the west OKC” should get…. But then a horrible defensive PG who struggles with layups on the third best team is entitled to two. Dirk single handily is getting a very mediocre Dallas squad well over .500, that's impressive. I’m not convinced Damian has been better than Matthews this season when you talk about total impact for a team. Damian deserves to be in conversation, but if I was filling out an unbiased ballet I’d probably have to go in a different direction.

Lillard doesnt deserve to be on the allstar team

I would be interested to know what an actual representative sample of players think -- knowing that it won't affect who is actually chosen. I don't give two rips what fans think. Present company excluded, of course. ;)
