Stotts didn't say Nurk would play. He was asked if there is a chance we see Nurk this series and he said yes.

Nurkic would have helped but outside of Dame/CJ and a solid game from Turner, the rest of this squad didn't show up. When PC has as many points as Aminu/Crabbe/Meyers, you are in serious trouble.

Dame and CJ actually can hold their own against the best back court in the NBA. Yes ours is also that good as well. The problem is the Warriors also have two additional ALL NBA players in their starting unit that we can not match up with. Nor can any other team. Then they have a bench that can come in and turn up the pressure to start the 4th. Teams run out of gas against them

Fantastic performance by the Blazers. Much more competitive than I expected them to be without Nurkic.

With Nurk, we play them closer in Q4. Or at least make them really work to get a victory.

I don't think Portland wins this series, didn't from the start. I said 5 games out of pure hope they don't close out in Portland.
However Nurk has proven even against great defensive teams he opens the court up for Lillard/CJ offensively, and defends the rim.
I'm not sure with how well CJ/Lillard played if he really would have helped that much offensively.
But he certainly helps when they're struggling on that end. Which they didn't tonight.
I however think Portland would have struggled more defensively in the pick and roll than they did today if Nurk had played.
As Portland couldn't switch like they did tonight.

I totally enjoyed watching this game. It was so fun and exciting! Honestly, the refs called a fair game too. What really did it for me was the broadcast team. Impartial announcers, and the video was TOP NOTCH. Excellent!

It was obvious we needed a reliable third scorer. Nurkic would've been that. And he would've disrupted Curry's drives to the basket. It seems we will have Nurkic back in this series so it probably won't be an "if only" situation. Why are you always so negative?

Nurk comes back and it causes all sorts of trouble for Golden state. With Nurkic, golden state won't be able to hedge dame and CJ the way they did in the second half. They would get wrecked on the pick and roll. It would also force them to play zaza instead of going small at center with draymond, aka their best lineup.

But of course any fan of the game would know this. Unless you're HCP. Literally watches a game for a living and still doesn't know what the hell hes looking at.

I still have high hopes that we can make some serious noise in this series, especially with Nurk and even more so in Portland... but DAMN, I am soooo excited for next year. With just a few tweaks to our bench and full year of Nurk it's going to be fun.

I think the most encouraging aspect was that GSW played a damn good game, and I felt we still had a chance. That was as close to the best defensive performance we could see from them and we were still right with them for most of the game.

Things like offensive rebounds, scoring off to's, drawing more fouls, and bench points might just put us over the hump. The question becomes can we do that for four games? Probably not, but I'm stoked to watch us try.

This is like last year play tuff for 3 QT against them and 1 bad QT had us fall short. But great effort but we need more from others that not name Dame and CJ.

Also, as a lot of us predicted, ET played some damn good ball in the playoffs. Solid of offense and versatile on D. Just wish we had anyone over 6'9 to provide a semblance of scoring ability

I'll say this; if we had Nurk the whole season, we wouldn't be the 8th seed and I don't see any other team in the west outside of golden state that can beat Portland (with Nurkic) in a 7 game series. So this series would be more like the conference finals, not the first round. This isn't the NFL, or the MLB. One player can change everything. Without Nurk, were average, maybe. With him, we are very, very good.
