Do you think Dame will drop a fiddy burger in the Playoffs?

Yeah they don't have good options.

Lets say they move Davis to center. He doesn't want to band inside against our bigs extended minutes of the game. They also don't have guard depth. Then they can only play one of McGee/Dwight, and the other one will be very unhappy to get DNP. When they trap Lillard with Davis, they would need Kuzma to protect the rim? That will really open up the floor for us on offense. They don't have experience playing any games with the bulk of Davis minutes at center, they'd be having to test entirely new rotations in the middle of the playoffs.

If they stick with their current lineup the middle is clogged. They don't have spacing. They are allowing us to play Nurk and Whiteside to their strengths.

They have lost one game and you already hear excuses, complaining, players not happy with roles, players unhappy with minutes, shifting the blame to shooters and others. They sound like a mentally weak team.

OK, old man yelling at clouds time! What is it with guys like AD or LMA flinching away from playing center? It isn't because of any physical short-comings on their part - which rather implies it is psychological.

I can understand not wanting to do it full time for all of 82 games. Tim Duncan didn't either. But they need to be able to do it for extended stretches. LMA would actually do its for extended minutes of games in the regular season. He was much more tough player than AD.

Davis has been injured multiple times playing center. He doesn't like it because he gets sprained ankles and he gets banged on. Ticky Tac injuries that add up. Sore Knee, Sore Ribs, Sore Elbow and so on....

I’d be shocked if Portland didn’t have serious foul troubles in this one. You think the league is gonna let Wenyen Gabriel clamp AD again? It’s 8 on 5 tonight.

Hope not.

If not this game...most certainly the next. You can count on LBJ becoming unglued at the refs if they go down 0-2. But to fair...all superstars do it.

If I read all the complaining on this board about the refs fixing the game and screwing PDX in game 1 you'd think the Lakers shot 3x the free throws as the Blazers.

The Lakers did shoot 31 free throws, yes thats a ton.

But the Blazers shot two more.

The Blazers players and coaches need this mindset.

However us fans can daydream of this win, the next round, the title, whatever we want... unless you believe our focus impacts the game.
Fair enough.
But seriously i am the type that thinks harder and wants harder! I am the type that will believe HARDER! Yes i am that person that can focus hard enough to impact this game!

Change my mind bro!:smiley-drzifige:

How would a healthy Pau Gasol affect this series i wonder?

I think the refs spotted the Lakers at least 8 points last game, primarily on ticky-tac fouls... many on Wenyen... and we still won. But we can't keep that up.

I expect LeBron and AD to be aggressive out of the gate. How our 2 superstars will respond is the question. Also, we've got to minimize their second-chance opportunities.
Yeah not letting them get offensive boards has to be the one thing we want to change on our defensive end. On your other point, unless Nurk is now considered a superstar for some reason, we don't have two superstars. Well I guess Melo is a superstar but not because of the level he plays at now. Dame is our only all-star and superstar. CJ isn't even an all-star. I think Nurk has the second most impact on our chances to win. CJ is our third most important player, even though he is obviously our second best scorer (Nurk defends, facilitates and scores very well) and not too far behind CJ is the impact that Melo has on our chances to win.

The only reason they were in that game were because of free throws. Those complaints were valid, as they usually are against big market teams. If you thought that game was officiated equally, or that guys like lebron and AD don’t get officiated differently, you’re an idiot.
You could as easily say the only reason we were in that game was because of free throws.

Stars were given ridiculous foul calls in the 90s but its pretty good today, not perfect but pretty good.

I know that goes against the bitching, group think, conspiracy, etc on this board.

Most fan bases think the same of how they get the short end of the stick. Owners like Mark Cuban pushed for so many reviews and independence of refs I think its pretty good today.

This is the best, being the 8th seed, no pressure, with a legit chance to knock out la.

We're playing with house money that we're even in the playoffs.

I was talking more about from a Blazers fan perspective when mentioning superstars not from a league perspective, but I get it.

Is Van Gundy gonna be announcing; I like that better than whoever it was last time.

Half our FTA were our bigs clanking attempts because the Lakers were hacking on dunk attempts.

How many times do they bump CJ with no call?
