I’m not going to be able to watch tonight’s game unfortunately. I know I’m going to have an eye in the score. Blazers need to find their mojo. Go Blazers!

I notice Mike Malone and Doc Rivers are talking about defense after playoff losses. I'm not sure if Stotts has; has anyone heard? I do know that in the playoffs every guy on the team has to play balls-out D and I stand by my comment that in the last game only Gary Trent was doing that; no one else close.

There was absolutely no urgency on defense. I don't even get it? They go out and play a solid defensive game in game one and then come out like they have the series won? It's like they were thinking they could just start playing when ever they wanted to. Even worse it's like they all believed Chuck and his sweep theory.

Well, the Blazers have had 4 days off since the last game they showed up to play, and it's only been 2 days for LA, so I figure the Blazers have the rest advantage for this one.

Go Blazers!

Well the Blazers didn't expend much energy in game 2. That's for sure

Are you suggesting the 2020 playoffs are more performance art that real basketball? Not saying you are wrong.
with the lockdown and virus I'd say it's a mecca for frustrated addicted gamblers....finally something to lose money on!

I agree with this to a point. However a whole bunch of people judge coaches by winning and winning percentages. Same thing goes for people saying they got swept a few series over the last few years?
What coaches do affects results so that's why people evaluate based on results, but there isnt anywhere near as direct of a correlation between results and coaching.

I try to evaluate things from A to B, with A being what coaches do and B being the result.

Too many people view things from B to A, and that usually becomes a conversation that's not even focused on anything on the court (ex. "He made to WCF and Dame likes him so..." or "His team overachieves") and it makes me wonder "Okay, what does he do specifically in a coaching sense that helps his teams overachieve...?"

Was listening to Fox Sports radio. They already saying this series is over. I hope that’s what Dame is hearing too. Lol. It’s 1-1. They ain’t even giving us a chance. It’s moments like this where Dame proves them wrong. Hope that finger is ok.

Why would you judge a coach based on Ws and Ls? Nobody judges a salesman on how many units he moves, or a plumber on whether his pipes leak, or a pilot on whether his plane crashes.

Yeah i tend to agree with that. Win and Losses are usually the ultimate deciding factor. Championships seem to solidify a coach as "Great" or at least very good. "Dame likes Him", "He has made the Conference Finals", "He has made the playoffs 7 years running with some of the weakest benches ever", " His teams constantly over perform" Those statements seem to just solidify a coach all the more when they are in the running for a Championship. But do not make a "Great" coach.
Does Nick Nurse get COY if the Raptors don't win games this year? Is it all just hangover from winning the championship?

One thing for is this team is urgency on both ends. Players have to make shots around Dame that will make Lakers to have adjusted there defense and hopefully that will take pressure of Dame.

Even after the last game I still thought we'd have a chance in this series. But dame ain't gonna be the same with that dislocated finger, and if that's the case I don't see how we win a best of 5 series here. The timing of that injury makes it so frustrating, since he shouldn't even had been in the game.

I agree the injury will have some effect. I also agree that winning a best of 5 right now is gonna be a tall order.
But there was no way Stotts was taking him out at that point of the game. Late in the third is when he gets hot. That is when we all are looking for the switch to go on. If it would have happened well into the 4th down 30 i would have blew a gasket but that was not the case.

Trust me we wouldn’t have won anyways. We were down 30 in that game with a healthy Dame. Lebron James doesn’t lose in the 1st round

yeh i see you're point. Just unfortunete it had to be dame out of all people. We ain't gonna shoot that bad again, and lakers aren't gonna shoot nowhere that good again, but dame's injury makes it a tall task now

lakers shot a franchise record 3s, they ain't gonna shoot nowhere near like that again, there not a good shooting team and we ain't gonna shoot that bad again, which is why if dame doesn't get hurt I'd still fancy us taking it to 7 games, but with dame's injury now, its most likely all but over

Next year

Stotts said there could be a change in the lineup today.

My best guess is Whiteside over Gabriel, but Trent probably deserves to start as well, considering the effort he’s given defensively.
