with all due respect, can you just pound sand instead whenever you get the urge to be the semantic policeman around here?[/QUOT
If you tell me that Dame will only hit one basket today and we will blow out the Nuggets, I will tell you that you’re crazy.
Its not the first time the Blazers have played well when Dame is struggling or injured. Its good see see Norm and others get more touches with Dame only taking 10 shots rather than 31.

True Malone has always trusted, Jokic.....but not Nurk when he had them both.
Nurk is playing well right now. But I don't he should be getting 20 shots per game.

yeah me neither, but I do want the ball in his hands more, at the expense of CJ.

Relieved it's 2-2. Frustrated and a bit perturbed because this should be 3-1 and could be a sweep.

Games like this show you what this team is capable of. It wasn't just hot shooting. It was defense and sharing the ball on a team with a bunch of dangerous scorers, like we did in the last 10 or so games of the regular season and Game 1 of this series.

I'd be considered a CJ supporter in relation to many on this board. But I can see the point others make. He can break down defense so well. When he looks to pass a few times after doing that and drawing help, he becomes 50 times the player. Today, he did that. He's very bright. I have to imagine he can see this, and I realize players turn to their comfort zone and passing isn't it for him, and yet, today, watch him set up teammates.

I know. I know. Enjoy this win. I just get agitated that these guys make it so much harder on themselves by figuring they're the better team and they only have to win four and talent will win out. The analyst on the broadcast today said it best: The Blazers are the more talented team. When they decide to match the Nuggets intensity, it's no contest. The only way the Nuggets can win is if the Blazers allow themselves to be outworked.

Great win.
Not to be a pessimist but..

to get Norm involved...it was dame who only took 10 shots.

Should be the other guy

Why is that? The other guy had 8 assists and shot close to 50% for the game. He played just fine.
Dame's shooting was clearly off today.

Damn someone took some umbrage by the way you guys do the threads o_O

OK. First I would like to say that I do not live in my mom's basement. I did these calculations while watching Memphis-Utah. Starting beginning of game to this point in the thread, I counted 38 clearly negative posts and 96 clearly positive ones. (about 165 neutral). Most positive posts concerned Powell, quite a few for Nurk. Vast majority of negative concerned CJ, a few Stotts (not moves in this game, but just in general.) A guy named ????Sly Poker Dog seemed to have the most positive posts.

In my 'bet the way you think the NBA would want this game to go' method, I see the Blazers winning game 4.

  • Dame will get more than 2 FTs
  • Nurk won't foul out
  • Austin Rivers won't be the best 10-day contract guy in the history of the NBA
  • Stotts won't use Kantor as much....but may/is allowed/should put him in at the end when we HAVE TO HAVE A REBOUND.
  • Our defense will still be....well, meh, but we will "hit more shots"
  • We will be more balanced and Dame/CJ won't continue taking 50+% of all the shots

  • Dame will get more than 2 FTs (7-7...even in what was a very poor game for him shooting wise)
  • Nurk won't foul out (battled Jokic to one of the Joker's weaker playoff performances.)
  • Austin Rivers won't be the best 10-day contract guy in the history of the NBA (8 points and was mostly irrelevant)
  • Stotts won't use Kantor as much....but may/is allowed/should put him in at the end when we HAVE TO HAVE A REBOUND. (Kanter....mop up minutes when the game was well in hand.)
  • Our defense will still be....well, meh, but we will "hit more shots" (Missed this one....one of their better defensive games)
  • We will be more balanced and Dame/CJ won't continue taking 50+% of all the shots (Went from 51% of the shots in a Game 3 loss to 34% of the shots in a Game 4 win. Much better.)
And that little prognostication just went toward the down payment on a new SUV. Thank you Blazers!! :notworthy::notworthy2::notworthy::notworthy2:

See that wasn’t hard at all. Pretty easy. I guess this is the nail in the coffin for Reddit. Once people like PapaG start posting on there it’s basically Facebook.

I thought he’d be raging against me still. Apparently I didn’t ‘flex’ on him hard enough

you should ask Bobf or Mr. Bounce to put that in a chart or graph

so, disregarding the approximate 200 posts you didn't categorize (like Aldo saying "what'd I tell ya"; or Bones saying "drop coverage"; or Sly leg-humping somebody; or me babbling about how mean why wife is or what I'm drinking), which probably includes lots of shots at the officials, that leaves 299 posts.

And of those 299, less than 13% were negative....which certainly seems to counter the narrative by many that this place is mostly negative. Of course, to balance the 'survey' you'd need to do a count of game 2's game thread. Last night, the Blazers were in control almost all the way, and the Nuggets looked like a lottery team. The opposite for game 2. I'd be pretty certain that was more negative than game 4

game threads are emotional and reactive. fans!....what surprise!

Best defensive players in the league according to RAPTOR

Off topic, but all I have to see to have a problem with WAR is Jakob Poetl being a 6.8 and Nurk being 3.4. There's less gap between Poetl's WAR and Embiid's that Poetl's and Nurkic's. It's why even advanced stats are far from perfect.

Dame's shooting was clearly off today.

....so he only took 10 shots. It’s something CJ needs to adopt
