Purely a hypothetical question: which team would you want the Blazers to face in this year's Finals?

CJ was Jordanesque !

This is what I've been saying all year about star shooting guards.
you have to suffer many night of bad shooting % and inefficiency , but you need this creativity and talent when it counts the most.

I was like 12 the last time we made the WCF ! i can't believe this is happening!
They are obviously completely different players, but I feel like we have been using CJ, and quite effectively I might add, in the same role that KD fills for Golden State. He's the guy that you can iso and he can go and get you a clean look at a bucket any time during crunch time, kind of outside of the normal offense. They get their shots in different ways of course. But they both act as a safety outlet during tight games. People say that the mid range is dead, but it is vitally important to have a guy on the team who can just go to that spot any time he needs to.

I honestly think this is why Houston failed so hard. Everyone knows they only use an analytical approach, but in a close game, they don't have anyone who will step up and create an easy 2. In a similar situation to CJ's game clinching shots, Harden almost certainly would have either jacked up a contested step back 3 or tried to get FTs. That's it. No other options.

CJ last night was what BRoy was in 08-09.

I'm gonna have to go with the Blazers by four points.
I'll bet Kanter gets as many rebounds as Jokic.
I'm gonna peg CJ at 37 points and
Imagine the Blazers playing Philly in the finals....the team they beat in '77 to win the championship

Yeah, I've been thinking about that possibility even before I read your post. That would be so very cool.

There isn't ONE topic about Blazers and Nuggets on FS1 shows. Cowherd will probably talk about it, but the first two shows fuck off all of you. The disrespect is real. I mean, ESPN isn't something to be admire , but at least they talk about us in the PLAYOFFS

Yes, that's right. I heard Zach Lowe talk about it too - every team is focusing on stopping layups and threes + it's hard to get calls in the paint, so the value of excellent mid-range shooters is trending upwards because there's so much space available in that area now.

About Harden, i watched most 2nd halfs of them Vs GSW and i thought Harden played worse than CJ normally plays.

Look at CJ vs your MVP...especially the difference in % and 3pt Attempts:

I have been reading clutchfans actually, just to see where people stand on the Blazers' series, and even those knuckleheads are starting to get it. They have a gimmicky offense that will put up huge points in the regular season, but just doesnt work in the playoffs. Defenses ramp up and refs allow more contact inside. So basically every team knows that you are basically going to shoot a 3 80% of the time. MDA is a gimmick, and Harden is just lazy enough to completely go all in that approach.

CJ always plays well.
He's just the easy scapegoat because people see how good Lillard is.

CJ is elite. Especially in the playoffs.

We're in the WCF because we have Lillard & CJ.
Not because we traded CJ. for a three and D guard.
Fuck the haters.

So you're saying it's good we didn't trade him for Khris Middleton?
:biglaugh:

Interesting. That makes sense. In game theory it's generally optimal to try to equalize all your opponents options. So if three & layups are naturally superior to mid-range, a defense would adjust to close down those two options until everything is equal. So according to that idea, it would not be good for an offense to put all its eggs in one basket. Therefore we should win a title this year.

Late last night SportsCenter. During the opening the announcer called him TJ McCollum!!!! Shit you not!

Season ticket holders had to either opt in for their tickets or let them go for all the playoffs so in that regard they did presell tickets.
What? Season ticket holders can choose at the beginning of the playoffs to get their seats at any home game in the playoffs. They are not charged for tickets unless the game is played.

In what world is that the same as opening up tickets to the public for the next round when they haven't made it yet.

The world where other fans are always wrong.

I know they aren't charged till the games are played, but anyone that opts in is also locked into buying every home game throughout the playoffs, thus those seats are pre sold. We disagree on what presold means, not the first time we have disagreed and definitely with your history, it won't be the last time. It's probably best we move on now as no reason to derail this thread. :bgrin:
