Did some research on this one. In Germany, where they live, the age of consent is 14. This post was actually from 2020. He was born in 1998, meaning he was 22 when she turned 18, and was 18 when she was 14 and began dating.

Not something I'd be OK with for my daughter, but not illegal where they are, and not as egregious as everyone's making it out to be.
