Folks, I had a rock bottom week.
Saturday, got my tax information. I knew I would have liability since my employer (illegally) initially listed me as contractor which meant taxes not deducted and higher rate. But I underestimated, by about half.
Sunday, computer developed major glitch. I am usually pretty good at clearing but could not get it going. Cost $250.
Monday, my Breville smart oven gave up the ghost. I use it far more than wall oven, it toasts, bakes, broils, roasts, air fries, proofs dough, reheats. After 15 years of almost daily use, not surprising it had reached the end. Now costs twice what it did when I first bought it.
The following Saturday washing machine went belly up. My usual appliance repair guy said he fixes mechanical stuff, but this was the sensors and referred me to someone else. They said it would be two weeks before someone could come over and estimate cost, then they would have to schedule repair and it could cost up to $500. Considering age of machine, I decided to just replace. Lowe's had sale but still not in my budget and not cheap. By the time washer arrived I had piles of dirty laundry and was washing the necessities in kitchen sink. The washer worked BUT lid didn't stay open so had to load and unload with one hand holding lid. It's supposed to be left open to dry out. I propped it with a couple of buckets and called Lowe's. Took 2 hours of nonstop calling to get a human. Phone would ring and ring and someone would hang up. They finally sent someone out today who fixed it and said I'm entitled to rebate because it arrived damaged. But .... I had to call Lowe's. They actually answered the phone but had to talk to three people before a very rude manager offered me a 10% rebate.
My garden hose sprung a leak. I got soaked, at a time when I had no clean clothes.
Lucia is due for exam and shots.
The A's are leaving Oakland.
I need a stiff chocolate.
