Fox "News" brought Caitlin Jenner, who has no training in public health or virology, as commentator on Los Angeles planning to bring back masks. She's a Trump supporter, must be an expert! She then went on to talk about what a nice guy Kanye West is.

Very fine people.

Crazies are everywhere.
In New Zealand child welfare authorities are seeking guardianship of a four month old baby. The baby was born with a severe heart defect and needs immediate surgery to live. Her parents are refusing unless hospital can pledge to use blood transfusion only from unvaccinated donors.
They are ready to let their child die.

Poor kid. Hopefully the authorities get guardianship to do what's in her best interest.

Kevin McCarthy is threatening to block all funding for the military unless they end their decades old requirement that troops be vaccinated.

It's Ted Cruz's 14yr old daughter who came out as bi last year.

One would hope this changes Ted's mindset on a lot of things, but I don't know if he is willing to give up on the perceived power and strength he thinks he has.
Imagine just having to go through something like this at 14 at all. Add in Texas. Add in knowing your dad has said/will say he opposes it, and the world knows it. Absolutely awful anyone has to go through that.

Doubtful. He and the Republicans don't give two shits. He just send prayers and move on like nothing happened.

I truly truly hope this young girl has a friend or family member who can support her.
Sadly, LGBTQ youth are more likely than straight to attempt suicide. Not because they are gay but because they are rejected, or fear being rejected, for being gay.

Newt Gingrich has lesbian sister. Dick Cheney has lesbian daughter. Phyliss Schlafly had gay son. Herschel Walker has gay son. Elon Musk has transgender child.
Having an LGBTQ family member does not, unfortunately, stop anyone from being a bigot.
Sometimes it does.
Sadly, too rare.

Which kind of shows that conservatives are more likely to lack empathy than liberals.

Health officials gain guardianship of baby whose parents refused ‘vaccinated blood’ transfusion
A New Zealand high court judge has ruled in favour of health authorities who sought guardianship of a baby boy after his parents refused to consent to a transfusion of “vaccinated blood” in a life-saving operation.

The high court decision places the boy in the guardianship of his paediatric heart surgeon and cardiologist “for the purpose of consenting to surgery to address the obstruction and all medical issues related to that surgery, including the administration of blood” said Justice Ian Gault in a summary of the judgment.
Sensible decision by the High Court, I hope the "parents" don't hold it against the boy.

Woman claiming to be relative of Chris Christie injures 6 deputies after getting kicked off plane, says sheriff's office
Shannon Epstein, 25, was asked to leave the Spirit Airlines flight after asking a family seated near her who she allegedly believed were Latino if they were "smuggling cocaine," according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

A woman who claimed to be related to former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie injured six deputies after she was kicked off of a Spirit Airlines flight on Thanksgiving Day, according to authorities.

Shannon Epstein, 25, was asked to leave the New Jersey-bound flight at Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans on the morning of Nov. 24 after she asked a family seated near her who she believed were Latino if they were “smuggling cocaine," Captain Jason Rivarde of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

Epstein refused to exit the jet bridge connecting the plane to the terminal gate and "became extremely combative," Rivarde said. She started to fight the Jefferson Parish deputies and injured six of them — one she bit on the arm and another she kicked in the groin.

During the fight, Epstein told the deputies that they were going to lose their jobs or go to jail because she is related to Chris Christie, the former New Jersey governor and a friend of former President Trump.

Epstein is Christie's niece, The Times-Picayune reports.

Christie, who ran for president in 2016, has not immediately responded to requests for comment.

Epstein was arrestedand handcuffed to a wheelchair as she continued to try to bite deputies.

Those bites had to have pissed off those LEOs. Um....I feel I need to let out a preemptive, "Epstein didn't kill herself" here.

Going back. The Don't Say Gay laws will make it much harder for LGBTQ youth like Cruz' daughter to seek help. A teacher or counselor at school can't discuss it with them, even if the student asks them to.

Which is the point.
