So, @Road Ratt what would you suggest if you talked to your senator or Congress person? This isn't snark. I am asking seriously. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren could write a better bill that would never pass. There are some genuinely shitty things in this bill but it also prevented a lot of shitty things. In the real world, after telling your representatives to vote no, what then?
It's not enough to say what you are against. What are you for? What realistic alternative, since we aren't going to have socialism tomorrow?

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I would've let the Republicans block it and just kept paying our bills. Make a couple Trillion Dollar coins and keep on with the budget that had already been approved.

Fuck'em.

Debt Ceiling Hypocrisy: US Boosts Military Budget, Restricts Food Stamps

US politicians from both parties agree: the deficit doesn’t matter.

In their bipartisan deal to raise the debt ceiling, Biden and Republicans are boosting military spending to $886 billion while making it harder for poor people to receive food stamps and welfare.

The constant chatter in the mainstream corporate media overlooked the real controversy, however. The reality is that practically no one in Washington truly cares about the US national debt.

In fact, in a bipartisan deal negotiated in late May to raise the debt ceiling, Democratic President Joe Biden and Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy agreed not to cut but rather to increase the already massive military budget from roughly $800 billion to $886 billion.

At the same time, the Biden-McCarthy deal makes it more difficult for poor people in the United States to get access to food stamps and welfare.

Biden literally signed off to giving more money to the military while helping republicans to make it more difficult for poor people to get access to food stamps and welfare.

If you can condone that Biden sided with evil. That is your choice. I can't look past the fact that Biden just sided with republicans to screw over Americans.

It makes me wonder why everyone else looks away while their party betrays Americans.

Giuliani is claiming without evidence that Biden has been taking bribes for 30 years and this is connected to the "deviance" of LGBTQ people. Makes no sense to me. Perhaps he can call a press conference outside a landscape store and explain it.

I have no doubt that Biden has been taking bribes for 30 years (at least). Just like every other state or national level politician has been...
