Wait, campaign donors are not at all the same as personal corruption. I totally agree we need campaign finance reform and also way too many politicians are too dependent on big donors. And that affects their votes. But that isn't money going into their own pockets. Like Trump is doing.
There is a ton of personal corruption from campaign donors.

Trump takes it to another level, for sure, but this is all a direct result of Citizens United and money in politics.

Never had a candidate before him been so blatant about funneling campaign funds for themselves. Maybe George Santos. But, he is in prison.

Not to mention Trump has "donors" paying him off via donations as well as through his businesses.

Many of our politicians make literally hundreds of millions of dollars from donors and corporations. Legally. Incredibly corrupt and legal.

Donald Trump (or similar) was always the end game if we didn't change those policies. You can't let the obvious corruption go and expect everyone to want to stay engaged. If much of the population is disengaged because they see the corruption isn't being addressed you get Donald Trump.

Trump ended protection for children, pregnant women, seniors and sick and disabled people in custody of Customs and Border Patrol. CBP will no longer have to provide water, medication, other needs for scary brown people.

Ye, formerly Kanye West, has a new song titled Heil Hitler. It has been blocked from Spotify, YouTube and other platforms, but not Xitter, where it has racked up millions of views. Ye also posted a video of rapist Andrew Tait playing it.

Tell me again how Columbia University is responsible for anti-Semitism.

Two rock bottoms today.

Starting pitcher for Houston Astros had bad game against Cincinnati. It happens. Fans get upset. But so called fans are calling him with death threats against his children.

Next rock bottom.
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms had wall mural consisting of photos of children who died by gun violence. They removed it without warning. Father of one of the dead girls depicted contacted them. He was told mural was removed to avoid upsetting Second Amendment supporters. Killing children OK, hurting gun nuts feefees not.

The country's largest sexual assault hotline will no longer refer callers to organizations that specifically aid LGBTQ or immigrant victims of sexual assault. They have been told they will lose federal funding if they continue to aid all callers.

Only straight native born rape victims, please.

Brain dead Georgia woman is being kept on life support against wishes if her family. She had severe headaches but was sent home with pain meds, no tests run. Studies show women and people of color less likely to have complaints of pain taken seriously and Black pregnant women less likely to have intervention during maternal distress but we are no longer allowed to research these things. Her boyfriend found her convulsing and unable to breathe. The condition might have been treatable earlier but she has permanent irreversible brain damage. Since Georgia bans all abortion, turning off life support would kill fetus so family forced to keep her hooked up to machines for months until she can be delivered. They are responsible for bills even though against their wishes. Also, fetus shows signs of serious damage. Family would be responsible for the child's special needs.

The perfect woman. Uterus, no brain.

Heritage Foundation, right wing Christian nationalists behind Project 2025, have launched Project Esther to root out anti-Semitism. Not the people who shouted Jews will not replace us, or Hitler wannabe January 6 defendant, or Hitler loving Trump dinner guest Nick Fuentes, or those trying to end the secular democracy that allowed Jewish Americans to thrive. In fact Heritage Foundation opposes secular democracy. The project is to crush pro Palestinian movement. To that end they are launching "investigations". Starting with right's favorite whipping boy George Soros. Also being investigated, Governor JB Pritzger, Senators Bernie Sanders and Adam Schiff, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky. See a pattern?

Right wing Christian nationalists claiming to fight anti-Semitism by "investigating" Jews.

US supreme court blocks religious charter school in split ruling
Justices’ 4-4 ruling leaves intact lower court’s decision that blocked establishment of Oklahoma school

The US supreme court on Thursday blocked an attempt led by two Catholic dioceses to establish in Oklahoma the nation’s first taxpayer-funded religious charter school in a major case involving religious rights in American education that challenged the constitutional separation of church and state.

The 4-4 ruling left intact a lower court’s decision that blocked the establishment of St Isidore of Seville Catholic virtual school. The lower court found that the proposed school would violate the US constitution’s first amendment limits on government involvement in religion.

The conservative justice Amy Coney Barrett recused herself from the case, leaving eight justices rather than the full slate of nine to decide the outcome. Barrett is a former professor at Notre Dame Law School, which represents the school’s organizers.

When the supreme court is evenly divided, the lower court’s decision stands. The justices did not provide a rationale for their action in the unsigned ruling. It was not disclosed how each member of the bench voted, though it is likely that the three liberal-leaning justices favored upholding the block and if that was indeed the case it poses the intriguing question of which conservative-leaning justice joined them.

Good. Practice whatever religion you want. Teach it to your kids if you want. But, keep it out of schools. Separation of Church and State remains as it should. Good to see the SC following the constitution. It would be great if the executive branch and the legislative branch follow suit.

That isn't rock bottom. People have the right to raise their children in their religion and pay for it.

Or just bring them church on Sunday.
