At this point, I really would be grateful if the Blazers just conceded all remaining games this season. It just puts me in a bad mood when they actually play them. Maybe the opposing team could just come to the building and put on an intra-squad scrimmage (hey, that might actually be competitive!) and sign autographs.

How low can we realistically get as far as records go? Can we get in the top 7/8 of the draft record wise?

Looks like PHX and GS can pass us pretty easily, which is 10th. I could see a couple of those 13 win teams doing well too (look at their last 10) which could bring us all the way to 4th.

Oh, I didn't see MIL and CLE, so whatever, 7/8th seems reasonable.

Blind Nut, meet Squirrel. Hey, it could happen. :)

Nice thread title!

I think the best draft pick we can get is 9th. The bottom teams are really really bad and 7 of them are in the east.

I enjoyed watching our scrubs at the end of the game. Why don't we just start them, and send the starters a message? Give me one good reason why the hell we shouldn't do it? We're not making the playoffs, we're going to lose anyway, the young guys are fun to watch.

:clap: If they aren't motivated by professionalism, maybe wounded pride will work. Has any coach ever succeeded by letting his players get away with dogging it? You would think even Nate sees that he has to do something.

How can poor Nate control those mean, lazy players?

Not with our scouts.

I said this a week ago and will repeat: "Fire the scouts and just use draftexpress and/or nbadraft.net, save tons of money and we'd be much better off, that idea shoudl appeal to PA since he seems to like running the team with no "real GM"

It's a tryout. We need to play them in games to see what they got and what they don't got. And to improve our draft position, of course.

Players I want to see:

Flynn
Thabeet
Nolan Smith
Nic Batum
Luke Babbitt

We're going to lose anyway, why not at least analyze our young guys and see if they're worth keeping around. This is a chance for Batum to be the focal point of the offense. I think we should take advantage of it.

Some notes:
  • Due to last night's "game", Milwaukee has now passed us in the league standings, dropping us to 10th worst;
  • We are tied with the league's three worst teams for the worst record in our last 10 games (3-7);
  • We are the worst team with a positive point differential; 6 teams with better records have worse point differentials, including three with negative differentials;
  • Golden State (next team down in the standings) has 4 of their next 7 games against worse teams (SAC, NJN, & 2 v NOH), and one other against us. They should pass us by the end of March.

As I see it, the best possible outcome for the draft would be for Portland to plummet to the 10th or 11th spot, NJ to end up at No. 3, and then for Portland's ping pong ball to pop that pick into the #1 position, thereby dropping NJ to the 4th spot.

Could happen. The basketball fates owe Blazer fans big time. ;)

Really? They can't fall to worse than 10th? Say it ain't so! :)

If we're gonna keep playing at the level of losing by 29 at home against sub .500 teams, 6th is possible. I think Sac, Cleve, and Detroit can pass us. GS will def pass us.

The young guys are run to watch? Did you watch them last night? How are they fun to watch?

Thabeet getting rim-checked on his allyoop attempt was the most entertaining moment last night.
