If he was in a Blazers uniform I'm sure he be better than the average big.

He was in a blazers uniform and he WASN'T better than the average big.

And we knew that.

Damnit, BGD. You tried that so many times that when it actually has happened it isn't true.

Do people not think teams do any negotiating with agents? If they could've had him for less they would've had him for less. 13m sounds about right for Plumlee. Hell, if he stayed he probably could've gotten 15. I know that was my guess on the number back then.

I think the consensus was that Plums was going to break the bank in Portland, based on his role and his play in Portland, so he needed to be traded. Then the consensus was that his role in Denver would not afford him the same level of contract going forward, that he might have commanded based on his play in Portland. I guess I agreed with both of those opinions. The reality is though that run of the mill back up big men are getting 10 million, so Plum's contract isn't terribly out of line. He's a hustle player, but he's not that good, IMO, or maybe I should say effective. I thought he was overrated in Portland by Portland fans. Maybe I was wrong. It's possible; I was wrong once last year. :dunno:

I notice Plums got just a smidge more than his brother. I can't help but suspect that was a requirement in his negotiations ;)

Plumlee would've gotten more if he hadn't been traded. People forget he was often our third best player and he was our MVP in the series against the Clippers. And his shotblocking was underrated. Some team would've offered him 16 to 18 million to be a starting center.

I'm really happy for Plumlee. The Nuggets got an awesome guy and a solid backup at the 5 who can cover at times if the need occurs due to injury. Right now it seems like the Nuggets have the center position pretty much sealed with a couple solid players.

There isn't a coach in the league who wouldn't gladly take Plumlee on his team ... ignoring financial and roster impact.
