ICE will probably deport the transplanted kidney too.

The kidney hasn't been transplanted. The donor is being deported before he can donate.

Of course. Kill two Venezuelan birds with one stone (not kidney variety). Great example of government efficiency…and cruelty.

I never liked the idea of forcing immigrants to leave the country. We were built on immigration all along. The rules for immigration have historically been based upon race and racism - initially towards Asians, and these days towards Central and South Americans. I don’t like it at all.

I grew up being told it’s a Free Country. Let it be Free.

I remember in the 1970s being able to walk across a bridge from the San Diego side of the border into Mexico and back into the United States. No passport required. No having to stop and be searched. The border has been the longest and most peaceful border in the world, until republicans declared war on the people on the other side.

I am ok with getting rid of convicted criminals.

I’m ok with building a wall in places where people who would cross there would be in danger from wandering around in the desert. Otherwise, let immigrants come through the border crossings - the people who don’t cross there are the criminals and smugglers and they’ll be easier to identify.

Citizenship is a matter for Congress to decide. Residency should be no different than for an American visiting another country (still an American citizen), subject to laws and taxes of that country.

Some people think that sneaking into the country is breaking the law. So is jaywalking. Neither law should be heavily enforced.

Excellent post. Almost exactly how I feel.

Except, in the 70s I was just a twinkle in my Daddy's eye...

Extreme Court voted 5-4 with Barrett joining dissent that Trump has right to send people to foreign concentration camps as long as there is due process. Which you can bet will be made as difficult as possible to access.

A Wisconsin cop was fired briefly after breaking down his girlfriend's door. He was later reinstated after accepting a plea for property damage.

He was fired for good after driving into a house. He had twice legal limit of alcohol. Then investigation revealed he had claimed overtime he never worked.

Got a job as an investigator with a private security firm working with ICE. He flagged a gay makeup artist as a gang member after mistaking the artist's Christian and "Mom" tattoos for gang tats. Man sent to Salvadoran concentration camps without charges or trial for life.

Trump demands Canada renounce their sovereignty and become a state. He demands Panama turn over the Canal. He demands Denmark cede Greenland. He has made threats against all these countries.

But he can't ask El Salvador to release a prisoner the US sent there and is paying Salvadoran government to hold.

Why for the love of god is no one reading these executive orders?

  • They are having the military work with local/ state law enforcement
  • They are saying that they will arrest officials
  • They are saying that state law will not shield anyone
  • They are saying that they will use agents already placed in states and even military personnel
  • They are saying that the standard they intend to use is as low as "harboring" immigrants, or even having DEI policies (for which they mention they will go after colleges)
  • They are saying that they will use RICO against everyone
  • They are calling current policies insurrection by name and "an intolerable national security risk"
  • They are saying they want to build more prisons
In the below EO, made the same day as the above, they offer police immunity and praise and all sorts of BS to try to claim their loyalty away from the state/locality.

Either they will succeed or the blue states are arming up and prepared to kill the government goons. Most likely we'll soon see prominent mayors and maybe even governors arrested by local/state law enforcement working for Trump, putting them in the federal system.

These are not people who fear being too forceful and these are not people who respect disagreement. I don't know what would be worse, the states fighting back or not fighting back. If the SC doesn't act immediately when it happens America as we know it is most likely done. With this as a precedent it's over, we'll probably just accept occupation but that'll just embolden them.

Some Highlights

...this is a lawless insurrection against the supremacy of Federal law and the Federal Government’s obligation to defend the territorial sovereignty of the United States. Beyond the intolerable national security risks

...The Attorney General, in consultation with the Secretary of Homeland Security and appropriate agency heads, shall identify and take appropriate action to stop the enforcement of State and local laws, regulations, policies, and practices favoring aliens over any groups of American citizens

...My Administration will therefore: establish best practices at the State and local level for cities to unleash high-impact local police forces; protect and defend law enforcement officers wrongly accused and abused by State or local officials; and surge resources to officers in need. My Administration will work to ensure that law enforcement officers across America focus on ending crime, not pursuing harmful, illegal race- and sex-based “equity” policies.
...(i) provide new best practices to State and local law enforcement to aggressively police communities against all crimes;
(ii) expand access and improve the quality of training available to State and local law enforcement;
(iii) increase pay and benefits for law enforcement officers;
(iv) strengthen and expand legal protections for law enforcement officers;
(v) seek enhanced sentences for crimes against law enforcement officers;
(vi) promote investment in the security and capacity of prisons; and
(vii) increase the investment in and collection, distribution, and uniformity of crime data across jurisdictions.
...the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Attorney General, shall determine how military and national security assets, training, non-lethal capabilities, and personnel can most effectively be utilized to prevent crime.
...with respect to State and local jurisdictions whose officials:
(a) willfully and unlawfully direct the obstruction of criminal law, including by directly and unlawfully prohibiting law enforcement officers from carrying out duties necessary for public safety and law enforcement; or
(b) unlawfully engage in discrimination or civil-rights violations under the guise of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” initiatives that restrict law enforcement activity or endanger citizens.
Use of Homeland Security Task Forces. The Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall utilize the Homeland Security Task Forces

I've been reading them. Democracy is cooked.

Georgia college student made right turn at red light with no turn on red sign. She didn't get a ticket. She is being deported.

Argentine -American couple, naturalized citizens, voted for Trump specifically to get "criminal aliens" out of the country. Their son, brought here as a baby, has a green card. His wife and children are citizens. Five years ago he was charged with minor misdemeanor and sentenced to probation, no jail time. He successfully completed probation and case closed. He was picked up by ICE. Family has no idea where he is, detention in this country, deported to Argentina, in Salvadoran concentration camp. They can't believe face eating leopard ate their faces.

These are the worst of the worst we hear about.

Man with 34 felony convictions, legally liable for rape, owes hundreds of millions in civil penalties sits in White House.

That's a shit ton of disgraced and fired ex cops that are probably going to be put back on the street because there is NO other way to hire 20,000 people with law enforcement experience in 60 days........this is not going to end well.

Don't forget mall security guards.

Trump will have his army and look for the mission of ICE to be changed to also "monitor" things like elections and local governments.

White supremacist troika Trump, Musk, Stephen Miller found refugees they like. Rich, white, racist. They welcomed a group of white South Africans who don't want to live in black majority country. Persecuted for being white! While genuine refugees are sent back or languish for years, they were expedited, flown out of South Africa on chartered plane. They are being given housing vouchers (how many veterans are homeless?), job counseling, furniture and household goods. Normally State Department pays for refugee resettlement but in this case money comes from Health and Human Services. Eliminating National Institute of Health, preventive vaccines, HIV prevention, mental health services frees up a lot of cash

The same day racist white South Africans were welcomed, Afghan refugees brought here after helping US forces had their protective status revoked.

Charges dropped against Newark Mayor Baraka. You think Trump DOJ wanted a trial in open court?

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge ruled late Tuesday that U.S. officials must retain custody and control of migrants apparently removed to South Sudan in case he orders their removals were unlawful.

U.S. District Judge Brian E. Murphy in Massachusetts issued the ruling after an emergency hearing, after attorneys for immigrants said the Trump administration appears to have begun deporting people from Myanmar and Vietnam to South Sudan — despite a court order restricting removals to other countries.

Murphy said the government must “maintain custody and control of class members currently being removed to South Sudan or to any other third country, to ensure the practical feasibility of return if the Court finds that such removals were unlawful.”

It really sucks that Kamala Harris lost by 2.7 million votes and we had nearly 10 million fewer eligible voters (3.8%) vote in 2024 (59.0% of voting age) than voted in 2020 (62.8%).

Imagine if Democrats had given people something to be excited about. Like had actually gotten something done. Rather than just saying they were planning on doing some decent stuff...

Imagine if they'd been beating the drum for universal healthcare...

Imagine if they'd actually gotten the rural broadband expansion underway instead of letting it be killed by red tape...

Imagine if they'd helped California make serious progress on high speed rail...

Imagine...

Imagine if people took their civic duty seriously instead of voting for entertainment.

Imagine if people cared enough to vote even when they weren't excited.

I'm not excited about taking out the trash, cleaning up bloodstains, or force-feeding the women I have tied up below deck.

But I do it anyway, because it's needed.

Imagine blaming people who have been deliberately oppressed and brainwashed while deflecting blame away from the people who pretend to be advocating for them....

I guess they should have known better than to wear that sexy outfit... She was asking for it, right?!

Women did not move much from 2020 to 2024. Trump increased his share of votes of white Christian women by 1% but percentage of Black women and Jewish women voting for Trump dropped.

Trump increased his share of male votes by 11% across all racial groups.

Imagine if American men were man enough to do what British, Argentines, Mexicans, Pakistanis, Icelanders, Israelis, New Zealanders did. Vote for a woman who is clearly more qualified than male opponent.

The way it works, at least up until now, voters get to choose their government. That's their right and responsibility.

Since they aren't capable of or interested in doing so, regardless of the reasons and/or excuses, then maybe it's ok that they gave away the privilege.

Although, even so, there are surely better choices for king.

As long as we don't blame the Democrats for being worthless (complicit?), or encourage them to actually give us a candidate and platform people would be excited voting for.

Goodness knows that would be going too far.
