He will want a reprieve and leave cold Milwaukee for warm weather climate and there some up and coming solid young teams there too.

I'm surprised to see that "no thank you" and "fuck no" (which are essentially the same answer to the question) getting 50% of the votes. I definitely thought more of you would be all in on this idea.

Fwiw Jake Fischer is quoted saying giannis has zero interest in POR

Yeah I take everything with a healthy dose of salt. It’s pure speculation

The people who are saying no obviously have no idea how good Giannis is. He has a 33.46 PER this year and is one of the best defenders in the league. He’s one of the few guys to win MVP and DPOY in the same year. He’s not that old. He just turned 31. If we traded Scoot/Grant or Shae/Grant as the foundation of the trade, Giannis would still have the best roster he’s ever played with. He’s never played with a better two way player than Deni.

Hes good.

Hes 31.

No is the correct answer.

The chance to get a generational player happens well, maybe once in a generation - especially in a small market town. If you can get him, you get him.

Was it worth 7 players (or whatever it was) to get Pippen? I would say most of us think so.

Was it worth for the Bucks getting Dame? I wouldn't say so.

With the Blazers luck he gets seriously injured - and all our eggs are cracked.

Hakeem Olajuwon (the last player before Giannis to win MVP and DPOY in the same season) won his first of two titles at age 31. On that note, I remember people being against the rumored Kersey/Duckworth for Olajuwon trade. 31 is not old. Dirk won his ring at age 33. Giannis is in his prime. And he’s already won a title with Jrue. Deni Avdija is better than Khris Middleton.

Bucks were around 30-11, I think, when they hired Doc Rivers who tanked the team. Still, when healthy, they won the 2024 Cup.

If Milwaukee trades Giannis to Portland, they will want their un-restricted first-round draft picks back. It won't be just players.

So, any trade in the past that didn't involve un-restricted first-round draft picks/swaps from a team that is trending down, is not comparable.
