Very sensitive. Actually had surgery to reduce my sense of smell about ten years ago.

It was part of a whole suite of work I had done while removing a HACKEY SACK sized tumor out of my sinuses. Had my uvula removed, turbinates shaved too. The uvula bit was hilarious; the surgeon was this old guy with a Brooklyn accent: "well, it ain't covered by insurance, but your uvula is too large and dragging on the back of your tongue. I can snip that baby off for $50!" So I had my uvula banned :ghoti:

Perfume still gives me a migraine, but I can occupy a building with people and not nearly die from their totally normal level of BO.

After 35 years in the wastewater treatment profession my nose is utterly jaded. Doesn’t mean I’m immune to odors, only that it has to rank high on the vomitometer scale to get much of a reaction.

Somewhat insensitive to bad and good. I'm severely chemically/fragrance sensitive - some people think that means I have a super sense of smell but actually the opposite. I can't tell the difference between Chanel No. 5 and Pine-Sol. I don't smell it, I react to it. And no matter how much I try to arrange my life to minimize exposure, years of chemical assault have wrecked my sense of smell. My neighbors tell me they can smell my rose garden from across the street. I can barely smell a flower if I stick my face right into it.

I suppose an advantage when cleaning cat box.

I'm old enough to remember when people were disgusted by the odor of skunk...now it's a popular smell...people say...oooh....that smells good!

As for me, my nose just doesn't work very well, so I'm somewhat insensitive to all smells, including bad ones.

The reason I put up the poll is this study:

This led Marco Liuzza of the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro, in Italy, and his colleagues to wonder whether there might be a link between a person’s sensitivity to malodorousness and the likelihood of them being sympathetic to right-wing authoritarian views. In work published this week in Royal Society Open Science, he shows that there is.

I leave it to the reader to decide whether the results of this poll are consistent with the findings of the study.

and I thought that the study on the mating habits of a grass hopper was the most ridiculous.. this is funny

When you can handle a grasshopper's snatch, it will be time for you to breed.

oh, no. Was he the guy that was found dead from hanging himself in a closet while masturbating?
you never watched Kung Fu in the 60s? he was called grasshopper by his teacher....other than that ...yeah....Carradine did that in Thailand....he didn't age well.

Oh, yeah, I loved the show. Was a fan of his movies as well.

I'll say this....I can deal with a ripe diaper or mucking out a barn or chicken coop....but I can't handle being around someone hot mopping tar on a roof or having a neighbor burn a mountain of pitch pine slash on a nice day.....those smells I have no tolerance for

Yeah, I'm super sensitive to odor.
If you want me to leave a meet and greet before it even starts.(not saying I'd ever attend one)
Have any amount of garlic before you show up.

I think im about average but those garlic fries????
Ive left games at halftimebecause someone a couple rows away gets them. Sometikes with the right wind angle i get queazy aNd it has gotten worse, as they are popular. I can smell them walking around the 300 level.

Its like the smell makes me feel sweaty or something. Just a dirty greasy smell to me.

I have a good sense of smell. My final in a sensory course in Wine school I had 16 wines, 8 white and 8 red and had to identify what varietal (Cab Merlot, Malbec, Grenache...) they were and from which general region (France, California, Washington...) they came from, just based on my senses. I got 7/8 whites and 8/8 reds with all regions correct. But that’s also using cues like the color, hue and taste.

Someday I'd like to do an informational interview with you about wine. Actually, from what you tell me, I'd probably be better off talking to Mrs. Further, but I'm like Mike Pence in that regard.
