No chance in hell the Spurs want Whiteside. Can you imagine pop coaching him? We would have to add like 2 first round picks for them to consider that.Whiteside sign and trade!

I know it's completely pointless, but Sean Elliot and their announcers were absolutely raving about Whiteside back when we played them. I think he regularly kills them even during his MIA days.No chance in hell the Spurs want Whiteside. Can you imagine pop coaching him? Also: Pop's going to be coaching the Nets, hadn't you heard? No chance in hell the Spurs want Whiteside. Can you imagine pop coaching him? We would have to add like 2 first round picks for them to consider that.
Spurs will want two things for LA.....youth and cheap contract.....aka Zach Collins or some combination including Wenyen Gabriel....they'll ask for Gary Trent....that better not happen....I'd consider what they'd want for LA because we really need scoring at the 4 spot. Aldridge has started rebounding and shot blocking more with the Spurs...he has played center for them at times...as Dame said....LA is a bucket...I'd want to see him play with Melo giving us 3 bona fide allstars on the roster and giving Dame a window to get a championship in his prime with proven vets....no more development players other than draft picks for a couple years would be a good change in my view.
Only way to make it work is by trading CJ to them
That’s not happening. I’d say the best shot would be doing two deals. A S& T of Whiteside for Aldridge and a second deal with one or more of our young guys for Spurs filler pieces.
Jaylen Brown? If I'm trading CJ I want a young talent like Morant or Levert ..or a two way guy like Holiday...CJ would be a trade you could get several players for in return...he's a franchise player for bottom feeding teams and I see him going to the east if a trade is made, not the west
CJ is 28 and he's been asked about by many teams....he is a franchise player in the eastern conference and he can light it up with a green light..his play beating the Nuggets in the playoffs last year was a value builder. Don't like him, fine but he's got a lot of respect around the NBA. I do not believe Neil will trade him anywayCJ is worth considerably less than all these guys mentioned. 130 M guaranteed for a 29 year old average efficiency scorer with no defense. This is not any team's franchise player.

In Portland he's not....on the Knicks he would be...but it's fine if you don't see him that way.He will be 29 by the start of the next season. And if any team has CJ has their franchise player they would be a literal bottom feeder. Don't really see the point of labeling him a "franchise player" at that point.

CJ and Zach for Lamarcus and Derrick White? I mean, I wouldn't do that if I were the Spurs, but if they're down on LA and have a high opinion of CJ...![]()

White is a pretty good player and Aldridge at age 34 is still a more efficient scorer than CJ. Not sure what your definition of "aging gracefully" means but he's technically the more efficient player even at the current moment.Aldridge is 7 years older than CJ and not exactly aging gracefully. What am I missing here? How does this help the Blazers?
the problem is LA is no longer a PF. not defensively. @$24/for one season does he start ahead of nurk or are we paying whiteside money for a backup? we would have $36 mil. of cap space tied up in i position. i like Dwhite's versatility but like Zach he is extension eligible this offseason too and believe SAS consider him 1 of their building blocks for the future.CJ and Zach for Lamarcus and Derrick White?
