Nobody's stopping the government from selling insurance and competing (instead of CONTROLLING) or building hospitals and hiring doctors and buying medicine and directly providing actual health care.

I don't think that's really true. "Certain people" would scream bloody murder if the government actually did that.

Government already does both. VA, and medicare (sorta). County hospitals, too.

Why would anyone complain? Nobody really is now.

A lot of doctors don't accept medicare because it costs a lot to, and takes a long time to, collect.
