OK, I admit. I do not follow men's college basketball. I might watch a national championship game but this year's was pretty dull

And I have a sneaking suspicion I'm not the only one.

So, my request/proposal during the draft talk that is sure to dominate the board for a few weeks: When you say the Blazers should draft X or not draft Y, say why. Give a little information - position, strengths, weaknesses. Because right now most of these guys are just names.

Gracias.

I don't watch any college hoops, but usually by the end of June I have a pretty good idea of who is who. Just have to read some of the draft sites and watch some of the youtube vids that people post. It doesn't give you the first hand opinions that someone who has watched them in live games would have, but you still get a pretty good grasp on who is good.

Would it be easier to maybe have a thread strictly for prospects? That way people don't have to spend time writing a bio in a lot of different threads, and there can be 1 thread people refer to?

Maybe a thread for each player in the realistic realm.

i would suggest going to sites like draftexpress.com or swishscout.com and reading the bios on these guys. the work is already done there and in most cases will be much better done than anyone here would do.

That's basically what I did.

Any opinions on the draft prospect thread?

I didn't break any rules with it....did I, Nate?

Come on MM, really? You understand where I'm coming from and it's been an unwritten rule for a long time on most sites. I had noticed some people posting nearly full articles and in some cases not even posting a link to credit the source. It was something that needed to be said.

Please don't take this as snarky. I meant it because I copied some things

All good, I've been getting a lot of snark lately. You can copy things, just be mindful about how much you copy. If you feel like you left a majority of the original content, you're good to go. I just hate stealing views from sites like nbadraft.net or draftexpress because this is the one time of the year that those guys really shine. We can post links and snippets but people should really be going to those sites to read up on the prospects.

Now if you want to post your own analysis of the players, that would be awesome.

No. There are too many here that think I am an idiot, so it would be a waste of time.

MM, actually, a prospect thread is a good idea. I'm mainly interested in Blazers prospects, so the consensus #1 pick isn't in the cards, but by all means sum up if you can.

Yes, I know there are sites, but some of us are supposed to be at work....

The player was just for example. Do you like the format? Is it easy to understand?

Honestly, I get tired of reading 50 pages of a thread.

Me too, that's why I peeled off the WCF and ECF match ups out the NBA playoff thread and gave them each their own thread.

As far as a thread per player that seems a bit overkill.

I think it wouldn't be overkill if there was a sub forum just on the subject for us. But I can understand how it would get annoying if it flooded the front page.

I vote that we keep the threads more organic, too. News for a particular prospect might be worth its own thread in some cases, but if there's been a couple of pages of conversation about it and someone comes the next morning, they'd need to go to the middle page of a long thread to see if anything big has happened.

The consensus top 30 are updated in the Draft Profile thread for those of you that don't follow college basketball. It should give you a general idea of the players we are talking about and why or why not we should want them. I hope it helps
